Abstract:
A band saw is provided with rotary guides for changing the angle of the saw. While the part is rotated and linearly translated toward and away from the saw by the contouring apparatus, the saw cuts a peripheral shape on the part with the blade, changing its angular attitude where necessary. An air cushion support holds the edge of the part at the saw blade.
Abstract:
A rotary turret numerically controlled punch press is provided with a discharge station at 90.degree. from a punching station. A part is clamped in the turret, separated from a larger workpiece and then rotated with the turret to the discharge station. A transfer arm is slaved to the NC punch press and engages the part at an exact attitude and position relative to a reference point on the part and transfers the part to a rotary chuck. The part is placed in the chuck at an exact attitude and with the reference point at the axis of rotation of the chuck.Four rotary chucks are provided on a rotary turret contouring apparatus. The turret is rotated 90.degree. to position the part at a cutting station.A band saw is provided with rotary guides for changing the angle of the saw. While the part is rotated and linearly translated toward and away from the saw by the contouring apparatus, the saw cuts a peripheral shape on the part with the blade changing its angular attitude where necessary. An air cushion support holds the edge of the part at the saw blade. After cutting, the contouring turret is rotated another 90.degree. bringing the part to a deburring station. The motion of the part at the deburring and cutting stations is identical for simultaneous cutting and deburring. Next the turret is rotated another 90.degree. and the deburred part is engaged by a second transfer arm to remove the part and locate it for subsequent treatment.
Abstract:
A trolling rig has a base upon which is mounted a pair of drums and a pair of telescopic booms. A pair of handles are selectively engageable individually or simultaneously with the drums to wind in line from the booms.
Abstract:
A carrier is movable up and down a heavy downrigger or weight line by a hydrodynamic responsive plane the attitude of which is responsive to the presence or absence of a lightweight fishing line and lure attached to a trailing end of the carrier. Release of the fishing line trips the plane about an axis transverse to the carrier into an upward movement mode.

Abstract:
A set of traveling sheaves is moved relative to stationary sheaves with the sheaves containing wraps of fishing line from between a spool or source of the line and the hook or terminous of the line. By moving the movable sheaves relative to the stationary sheaves, the line can be quickly retrieved or quickly released when letting out line.
Abstract:
A side feeding shearing apparatus is provided with an upper frame having a side opening to allow sheets to be swung between the shear punch and die to position the sheet for feeding past the shear punch. The shear punch is positioned below the sheet supporting surface of the shearing apparatus and is raised for shearing the sheets. Sheets are delivered to the shearing apparatus by a transfer mechanism that includes a base secured to an adjacent N.C. punch press. An arm which clamps the sheet is pivotally mounted on the base and the arm is accurately aligned on the base by a shot pin and corresponding aperture. Movement of the sheet through the shearing apparatus is provided by the sheet positioning means of the N.C. punch press.

A rotary turret, numerically controlled punch press is provided with a discharge station at 90.degree. from a punching station. A part is clamped in the turret, separated from a larger workpiece and then rotated with the turret to the discharge station. A transfer arm having a part clamping mechanism is slaved to the NC punch press, engages the part at an exact attitude and position relative to a reference point on the part and transfers the part to a rotary chuck or part holder. The part is placed in the chuck at an exact attitude and with the reference point at the axis of rotation of the chuck.
Abstract:
A pair of turrets of a punch press are rotatably coupled to a common drive shaft by chains and sprockets. Releasable couplers are placed between the chains and the drive shaft to allow relative, limited movement between the turrets and the common drive shaft during the insertion into the turrets of alignment shot pins. The limited relative movement allows the turrets to independently, accurately position during insertion of the shot pins without placing strain on the chains, drive shaft or power source.
Abstract:
A set of travelling line guiding members are moved relative to stationary line guiding members with the two sets of line guiding members containing separate individual wraps or partial loops of line. By moving the guiding members relatively toward and away from one another the line can be quickly released when letting out line or retrieved for retracting a line. Wrap retaining devices are provided for releasably holding the wraps of line when in the retracted position after the movable line guiding members are moved from the retracted position toward the fixed line guiding members.
