Abstract: A control module comprises software instructions for execution by an electronic data processor. An inductance estimator is configured to estimate direct inductance and quadrature inductance associated with the electric machine based on a first set of equations that assume constant rotor resistance and constant magnetic flux. A torque estimator is configured to estimate an observed torque associated with a rotor of the electric machine based a commanded direct-axis voltage and a commanded quadrature-axis voltage, where the observed torque is proportional to the observed power consumption of the electric machine. A pulse-width-modulation (PWM) module is configured to provide pulse-width modulated signals to the electric machine based on the commanded direct-axis voltage and a commanded quadrature-axis voltage. A back-electromotive force adjustment is derived from an estimated, observed torque and a commanded torque.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a controller includes a memory having computer-readable instructions stored therein and a processor. The processor is configured to execute the computer-readable instructions to determine a first set of inductance values for at least one load machine and second set of inductance values for a generator machine, determine a first set of gains for the at least one load machine based on the first set of inductance values and a regulator bandwidth, determine a second set of gains for the generator machine based on the second set of inductance values and the regulator bandwidth, and generate voltage commands for driving the at least one load machine and the generator machine based on at least the first and second sets of gains.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a method of controlling a three-phase alternating current (AC) voltage source includes determining an error between a direct current (DC) bus voltage command and a detected DC bus voltage, the detected DC bus voltage being a part of an outer feedback loop, obtaining one of a virtual conductance or virtual resistance, the one of the virtual conductance or the virtual resistance being a part of an inner feedback loop relative to the outer feedback loop, regulate an output DC bus voltage based on the error and the one of the virtual conductance or the virtual resistance and controlling the three-phase AC voltage source based on the regulation of the output DC bus voltage.
