Lubricating oil is conveyed by an oil pump from an oil tank through the eccentric shaft to first and second main bearings, and to an eccentric bearing, from which a bevel on the front sealing part conveys it to a piston space, from which it is conveyed by way of a bevel on the piston and a rear bevel back to the oil tank to close the oil circuit. The bevels direct the oil circulation from the front of the working unit to the rear, reduce splash losses, and increase the cooling action on the internal surfaces of the piston.

Rotary pistons on shafts connected therewith counter-rotate in a blower machine casing having casing inner cylindrical surfaces and having an inlet and an outlet in the region of intersections of these casing inner cylindrical surfaces, the cross section of the inlet is approximately 1.35 times the cross section of the outlet. The rotary pistons are formed by two coaxial semi-cylinders having different radii with a ratio of 2.5 to 2.8 relative to each other. Transition surfaces are formed between the semi-cylinder with the large radius and the semi-cylinder with the small radius. These transition surfaces dovetail with the corresponding transition surfaces of the other rotary piston and together with the associated casing inner cylindrical surfaces. The side plates and the cylindrical surfaces of the semi-cylinder with the small radius form working chambers having variable volume therewith. The cylindrical surface of the semi-cylinder with the large radius terminates in an angle of 15.degree. to 25.degree. before a base plane or surface thereof with an angle of 30.degree. to the axis of symmetry of the rotary piston in sides or flanks. The semi-cylinders with the large radius are made hollow and consist of light metal. The rotary pistons at the axial sides thereof have concentric disks which, with the peripheral surfaces thereof, operate with a close but contactless gap relationship in recesses in the walls of the side plates. The side of the semi-cylinder with the large radius upon the outer side thereof has recesses for balancing of the rotary pistons.

A lubrication system for a rotary-piston internal combustion engine of the trochoid type with roller or needle bearings between the eccentric and the rotor. Lubricating oil in a dosed quantity is passed through a bore in the side part adjacent the gearing between the shaft and the pinion of the gear, from where it is supplied to the connection of the eccentric where, due to the centrifugal force, it is sprayed or splashed into a collector plate at the eccentric wall at the side of the gear. A bore leads from this collector plate to the eccentric bearing and passes the oil into the bearing under the influence of the centrifugal force. Excess oil serves to lubricate the gear and the gas seal elements.

During movement of the piston, the oil adhering along the housing sidewall is conveyed in an opening in the housing sidewall concentric to an eccentric shaft. The inner seal has a plurality of sealing laminations that are arranged along an inner base surface thereof and that are located with a scraper edge forming an acute abutting angle along the housing sidewall counter to direction of rotation. The angle of the scraper edge located in the plane of the housing sidewall equals respectively is smaller than that of the tangent along the rising branch of the trochoidal path, course or runway described by an inner corner of the scraper edge upon the housing sidewall relative to a radius of the inner seal intersecting this corner.

A rotary piston compressor including a main housing part composed of a plurality of interconnected components one of which has a trochoidal two arc-shaped inner surface forming a race way, and a triangular piston rotatable in the eccentric of an eccentric shaft. The corners of the triangular piston are in continuous sliding contact with the race way. The components are surrounded by a capsule housing which on one side of the compressor has a pressure connection arranged in a dome-shaped cover. This cover includes a hood separating the high pressure section from the low pressure section. The cover is connected to the hood by a central member forming a connection for the inlet conduit. The hood sealingly engages a step in the adjacent housing component. The capsule housing has an annular shoulder by means of which under tension it extends around the outer rim portion of the component adjacent to the cover, then extends over the other components, and is bent over the outer peripheral rim portion of the component farthest from the cover. The piston has a side wall on only one side and is pot-shaped while the counter weight for the piston is arranged in the latter.
