摘要： A secondary battery, in which working pressure and rupture pressure of a safety vent are effectively controlled with respect to a slope of the safety vent and shapes of rupturable grooves. The secondary battery includes an electrode assembly, a can accommodating the electrode assembly and a cap assembly coupled to the can, the cap assembly including a lower portion arranged at an upper side of the electrode assembly and having a through-hole arranged at a center thereof, a safety vent electrically connected to the electrode assembly through the through-hole and an insulator arranged between the safety vent and the lower portion of the cap assembly, wherein a first distance between a portion of the safety vent arranged at a region near the through-hole and the lower portion of the cap assembly is smaller than a second distance between a portion of the safety vent positioned furthest from the through-hole and the lower portion of the cap assembly.

In one embodiment, the secondary battery includes 1) an electrode assembly having an outer surface, 2) a sealing tape attached to and surrounding at least part of the outer surface of the electrode assembly and 3) a can accommodating the electrode assembly and sealing tape. The sealing tape includes i) an adhesive layer contacting the outer surface of the electrode assembly and ii) a base layer formed on and at least partially covering the adhesive layer. The base layer contacts an inner surface of the can. At least part of the adhesive layer is not covered by the base layer.

In one embodiment, the secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including an external surface, an electrolyte, a sealing tape including an adhesive layer attached to at least portion of an outer surface of the electrode assembly and contacting the external surface of the electrode assembly and a base sheet disposed on an adhesive layer and formed of a material having directionality, and a can receiving the electrode assembly, the electrolyte, and the sealing tape, wherein the base sheet loses directionality and is shrunk and deformed in shape by contact with the electrolyte, and at least portion of the base sheet contacts an inner surface of the can to prevent the electrode assembly from being freely moved within the can.

摘要： Disclosed is a cylindrical secondary battery that can improve pressing force of a gasket pressing a cap up and a safety vent. The cylindrical secondary battery prevents leakage of electrolyte by improving pressing force of the gasket by including a cap up whose terminal portion is formed thicker than the peripheral portion. By using the cap up of the above structure, a curled portion is formed at the edge of the cap up or safety vent so as to surround the end of the safety vent or cap up. Thus, internal resistance can be reduced when the vibration or external impact is applied to the battery, and assembling error can be prevented.
