    Abstract: An information code reader is capable of readably imaging an information code displayed on a screen, not liming to an information code covered by a covering portion through which visible light cannot be transmitted. In an information code reader, first illumination units to radiate visible light, in which an information code is subjected to image acquisition by a first image acquisition unit. Second illumination units radiate infrared light, in which the information code is subjected to image acquisition by a second image acquisition unit. A visible light cut filter, which does not allow the visible light to pass through, but which allows the infrared light pass through, is arranged depending on a spatial imaging range provided by the second image acquisition unit.

    Abstract: An information code reader is provided to read an information code, such as a QR code (registered trademark). In this reader, a marker light irradiating unit is provided in a position farther away from a reading opening than a reflective mirror is, and disposed such that an optical axis of a marker light is parallel to an optical axis that is a center of an imaging area of a light receiving sensor and the marker light is close to (or in proximity to) an upper edge (outer edge) of the reflective mirror.

    Abstract: In an optical information reader which optically reads an information code, a first polarizing unit arranged on the light-exit side of a lighting unit is configured to polarize illumination light therefrom in a predetermined polarization direction. In addition, a second polarizing unit arranged on the light-reception side of a light receiving sensor is configured as a switchable polarization unit, in which the switchable polarization unit is capable of performing a switchover between a polarized state in which light reflected from the information code is polarized in a direction different from the predetermined polarization direction and a passing state where the reflected light passes therethrough without being polarized.

    Abstract: A stationary-type reading apparatus, which reads an information code, includes a case having a reading opening. An imaging unit, an image forming unit, and a reflecting unit are housed inside the case. The reflecting unit reflects light that has entered through the reading opening towards the image forming unit, the reflected light is led to a light receiving area of the imaging unit. The image forming unit prescribes a view area, which is configured by a first view area positioned between the image forming unit and the reflecting unit and a second view area positioned towards outside of the case, through the reading opening from the reflecting unit. A lower end of a reflection area of light from the reflecting unit is positioned at least at the lower end of the first view area. The image forming unit is disposed in a position off the second view area.

    Abstract: An optical information reader includes a main body portion in which a reading opening is formed; and a grip portion that is connected to a section of the main body portion other than a section in which the reading opening is formed, and is gripped by a user. The reader further includes a light-receiving sensor that captures an image of a predetermined imaging area AR through the reading opening; and a control circuit that performs an interpreting process of a code image of an information code imaged by the light-receiving sensor. An extending portion that extends towards the information code side is provided in a periphery of the reading opening. An opened portion is formed in a section of the extending portion other than a section on the grip portion side.
