Abstract: A braking device is mounted on a vehicle having two or more rows of right and left wheels, electric brakes, and at least one steering actuator. The steering actuator is capable of turning at least one row of the right and left wheels regardless of a steering wheel operation. The braking device includes a braking control unit configured to control a braking force of the electric brake for each of the wheels and operation of the steering actuator. When an abnormality detector detects an abnormality in the electric brakes, the braking control unit switches to an abnormal-time braking control different from a normal state control, at least controlling the steering actuator so as to suppress an influence on the vehicle due to the abnormality.

Abstract: A vehicle braking apparatus is adapted to a vehicle in which electric brakes are separately provided for wheels, and the electric brakes separately exert braking forces on the wheels. A braking force controller controls the braking forces separately exerted by the electric brakes. A first pair of electric brakes are provided for a front-left wheel and a front-right wheel, and a second pair of electric brakes are provided for a rear-left wheel and a rear-right wheel. At least one of the first pair of electric brakes or the second pair of electric brakes are multiphase electric brakes, and each of the multiphase electric brakes includes a multiphase motor having three or more phases. The braking force controller executes an up-down process to prevent a current from being concentrated on a particular phase of the multiphase motor, except when the vehicle satisfies a predetermined exemption condition.

Abstract: A motor controller includes a power converter and a current command calculator. The power converter supplies alternating current power to each phase of a multiphase motor by converting input power. The current command calculator calculates a current command value for a current supplied to the multiphase motor, the current command value being defined by a current amplitude and a current phase, the current command calculator executes a phase adjustment process in a case where the multiphase motor is in locking energization being a state in which the multiphase motor is being energized while the multiphase motor has stopped rotation, except when the multiphase motor satisfies a predetermined exemption condition. The phase adjustment process is a process in which the current phase of the current command value is changed over time to prevent the multiphase motor from being energized on same phase for a predetermined time or longer.

Abstract: A vehicle braking device with electric brakes includes a braking force controller. This controller adjusts braking forces based on an external command. The electric brakes show hysteresis characteristics: braking force rises with increasing current along a positive efficiency line and holds steady when current drops from a turning value to a holding threshold. Further current decrease leads to a reduction in braking force along an inverse efficiency line. The actual braking force has an increasing period when it follows the positive efficiency line and a holding period when it stays constant as current decreases to the holding threshold. If the vehicle does not meet an exclusion requirement and the required braking force is rising, the controller switches from the increasing period to the holding period when the actual braking force matches the target braking force. It switches back to the increasing period when the difference between the actual and target braking forces reaches a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: A vehicle braking device has electric brakes for generating a braking force at corresponding wheels. The vehicle braking device includes a braking force controller for controlling the braking force. A relationship between an electric current and the braking force in each of the electric brakes has a hysteresis characteristic. The hysteresis characteristic indicates that the braking force increases along a positive efficiency line when the electric current increases, the braking force is held constant when the electric current decreases from a turning value to a holding threshold, and the braking force decreases along an inverse efficiency line when the electric current decreases from the holding threshold. The braking force controller alternately switches between a positive efficiency braking wheel and the braking force holding wheel while a required braking force of the vehicle increases or is held.
