Abstract: A system and corresponding method are presented. the system comprises: an illumination unit comprising at least one light source configured for emitting coherent illumination of one or more selected wavelength ranges having selected illumination modulation pattern and for directing said illumination onto one or more selected inspection regions; and a collection unit comprising at least one detector array and imaging optical arrangement configured for collecting interacting light from the one or more selected inspection regions and for generating corresponding one or more sequences of image data pieces at selected sampling rate. The image data pieces being indicative of secondary speckle patterns formed in collected interacting light. The illumination modulation pattern is selected for increasing temporal bandwidth collection of speckle patterns associated with temporal shifts in said one or more inspection regions.

Abstract: A system and technique for monitoring of one or more parameters of a sample are presented. The system comprising: an illumination unit configured for providing coherent illumination of at least two wavelength ranges and for directing said coherent illumination onto an inspection region, and a collection unit configured for collecting light returning from the inspection region and generate one or more image data pieces associated with speckle pattern generated at an intermediate plane between said inspection region and said collection unit. The use of illumination having at least two different wavelength ranges provides generation of speckles associated with mutual- interference of light of the different wavelength ranges, enabling higher efficiency and stability with respect to movement of the inspection region.

Abstract: A method and system for use in detection of a periodic signal are described. The method comprising: providing data about periodicity of the periodic signal; sampling said periodic signal at a sampling rate along a plurality of periods of said signal, said sampling rate being selected as having temporal location of at least one sampling event along a corresponding period thereof varies for each period for a desired number of the periods; arranging sampled data pieces in accordance with sample time thereof with respect to time within a period of said periodic signal; and reconstructing a profile of said periodic signal from said plurality of periods being sampled at a desired resolution being greater than resolution associated with said sampling rate. The variation in temporal location of sampling event may be provided by proper selection of sampling rate, or by varying time of sampling rate in accordance with the period of the periodic signal.

The system includes at least one symmetry replicator located at the at least one intermediate optical plane, thereby providing imaging of secondary speckle pattern on the detector array having a selected symmetry condition.
