    Abstract: Disclosed are a device and method for generating haptic data, and a device and method for providing a haptic effect. The device for generating haptic data comprises: a controller for generating haptic data about an event occurring during game play on the basis of haptic data settings information; and a communication unit for transmitting the generated haptic data to the device for providing a haptic effect. The device for providing a haptic effect comprises: a communication unit for receiving the haptic data from the device for generating haptic data; a haptic effect playback unit for generating the haptic effect under the control of the controller; and a controller for controlling the generation of the haptic effect on the basis of the haptic data.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a tactile message providing method for a tactile sense in a mobile communication terminal device, the method including: (a) driving a tactile message program; (b) receiving a tactile pattern; (c) converting the tactile pattern into a pattern signal; and (d) transmitting the pattern signal to a reception terminal device, wherein the tactile message program includes a tactile pattern input window or a tactile switch icon for switching a text input window to a tactile pattern input window, wherein the pattern signal is a signal capable of transmitting tactile information by operating a tactile delivery unit of the reception terminal device.
