    摘要: The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for reducing delay while providing secure communications between nodes. An exemplary method embodiment includes a first node performing the steps of: identifying packets corresponding to a first communications session, the first communications session corresponding to a first application type; segmenting at least a first packet corresponding to the first communications session into at least a first packet portion and a second packet portion, the first packet including a first packet header and a first packet payload, the first packet portion including at least a portion of the first packet header, the second packet portion including at least a portion of the first packet payload; communicating, in encrypted form, the first packet portion from the first node to a security function node; and communicating, in unencrypted form, the second packet portion from the first node to the security function node.

    摘要: Millimeter wave access system and method for device-to-device communications (D2D) are described. A method includes registering, by one or more Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) devices (CBSDs) with a millimeter wave spectrum access system (MAS), establishing, by mobile devices, connections with a CBSD, receiving D2D communication mode capability from the mobile devices, receiving millimeter wave spectrum allocation requests for D2D communication from a number of the plurality of mobile devices, determining, by the MAS, millimeter wave spectrum allocation for the requests, sending, by the MAS and the CBSD, appropriate millimeter wave spectrum allocations to each of requesting mobile device and enabling D2D communication mode, establishing D2D communication links with other mobile devices to exchange data, monitoring idle time percentage on the D2D communication links, informing when D2D communication is not needed based on the idle time percentage, and releasing allocated millimeter wave spectrum when D2D communication is not needed.

    摘要: The presentation invention relates to methods and apparatus for coordinating the buffering and transmission of data between a Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) and a wireless base station. An exemplary method in accordance with one embodiment includes the steps of: receiving a buffer management mode message at a CMTS from a wireless base station; switching, by the CMTS, from operating in a first mode of operation to operating in a second mode of operation with respect to buffering and communicating downlink data to the wireless base station; and while operating in the second mode of operation: (i) creating a plurality of CMTS downlink data buffers, each of the plurality of CMTS downlink data buffers corresponding to a different user equipment device to which the wireless base station is actively providing services; and (ii) storing a received downlink data packet in one of the plurality of CMTS downlink data buffers.

    摘要: In certain embodiments, a (e.g., 5G) wireless network has a (e.g., CBSD) base station and any suitable number of instances of user equipment (UE). For each group of one or more UEs, one of the UEs is designated as a primary UE that stores UE context information for the other (secondary) UEs in the UE group. To connect to a secondary UE, the base station can retrieve the UE context information from the secondary UE's associated primary UE without having to retrieve the secondary UE's context information from the core network, thereby reducing backbone bandwidth usage and delays in connecting the secondary UE, especially when many secondary UE request connections within a short time interval.

    摘要: A base station identifies received backhaul traffic including IP packets based on whether or not the reception was via a secure tunnel, e.g., an IPsec tunnel. Recovered data, e.g., an IP packet from an IPsec tunnel, is associated with an IPsec identifier having a value indicating that the packet came from an IPsec tunnel. Data, e.g., recovered IP packets, associated with an identifier indicating receipt via an IPsec tunnel are stored in a first transmission buffer, e.g., a high priority transmission buffer, while other recovered IP packets which were not received via an IPsec tunnel are stored in a second transmission buffer corresponding to a lower, e.g., normal, transmission priority. A downlink transmission scheduler, e.g. an MAC or frame scheduler, schedules transmission of frames includes IP packet data from both buffers, with data in the first buffer being given higher priority to reduce latency with regard to the IPsec traffic.

    摘要: A communication management resource partitions allocated wireless bandwidth into a first portion (such as first virtual bandwidth or first bandwidth part) and a second portion (such as virtual bandwidth or second bandwidth part). The communication management resource determines wireless interference associated with transmission of first wireless communications over the different bandwidth portions such as from a wireless base station to multiple communication devices while in a first mode. Depending on the wireless interference determined during the first mode, the communication management resource controls conveyance of second wireless communications over the allocated wireless bandwidth to the multiple communication devices in a second mode. In one instance, the communication management system operates one or more communication devices in a device-to-device mode to alleviate wireless interference associated with use of the allocated wireless bandwidth.
