摘要: A catheter adapted or high density mapping and/or ablation of tissue surface has a distal electrode matrix having a plurality of spines arranged in parallel configuration on which a multitude of electrodes are carried in a grid formation for providing uniformity and predictability in electrode placement on the tissue surface. The matrix can be dragged against the tissue surface upon deflection (and/or release of the deflection) of the catheter. The spines generally maintain their parallel configuration and the multitude of electrodes generally maintain their predetermined relative spacing in the grid formation as the matrix is dragged across the tissue surface in providing very high density mapping signals. The spines may have free distal ends, or distal ends that are joined to form loops for maintaining the spines in parallel configuration.

摘要: Catheters are presented herein having planar end effectors of various configurations, generally providing a two-sided and multi-layered platform for electrodes and sensors. In some examples, the end effector has a support frame (e.g. nitinol) between a pair of flexible circuits. The end effector can also include a polymer (e.g. silicone, LCP, etc.) between the flexible circuits and encapsulating the support frame. This platform facilitates positioning of electrodes on either side (including both sides) of the end effector in a variety of spacings and facilitates ultra-tight electrode spacing and/or a large area electrode. Sensors (ultrasound transducers, navigation coils, etc.) can be layered within the end effector between outer surfaces of the flexible circuits in a variety of configurations.

摘要: A catheter is presented herein which includes inductive coils which conform to the curved surface of a tubular catheter body and collectively can function as a three axis sensor during an intravascular and/or intracardiac treatment. The inductive coils can be fabricated on a flexible circuit substrate and affixed to the tubular catheter body. The catheter can include a distal portion that can be moved into a circular shape (“lasso”) when within vasculature or the heart. The inductive coils can be positioned around the circular shape such that a position and orientation of the distal portion can be determined in three dimensions when the distal portion is within a known fluctuating magnetic field.

摘要: A system for visually representing estimated ablation size is provided which includes sensors that acquire location signals indicating locations of an ablation device during an ablation of an organ and ablation parameters signals indicating ablation parameters during the ablation. The system also includes memory which stores location data and ablation parameter data corresponding to the location signals and ablation parameters signals. The system also includes a processing device which generates mapping information for displaying a map of the organ and first object information for displaying a first geometrical object having a first size which represents an estimated depth of the ablation of the organ. The processing device also generates second object information for displaying, concurrently with the first geometrical object, a second geometrical object having a second size which represents an estimated width of the ablation of the organ.

摘要: A method is provided. The method is implemented by a mapping engine. The mapping engine includes processor executable code stored on a memory and executed by a processor. The method includes acquiring catheter trajectories in real-time during an ablation procedure and training a pre-trained neural network based on a dataset and the catheter trajectories to provide a trained neural network. The method includes approximating an atrium shape utilizing the trained neural network and portions of a catheter traversal path and generating a three-dimensional model output from the trained neural network and the atrium shape. The method also includes displaying the three-dimensional model output as an early visualization in the ablation procedure.

摘要: A catheter for electrophysiology applications is disclosed herein that includes a tubular member and an end effector. The end effector is coupled to a distal portion of the tubular member. The end effector includes first, second, and third loop members configured so that the first loop member defines a first plane, the second loop member defines a second plane at an angle to the first plane, and the third loop member defines a third plane at an angle to the first plane and at an angle to the second plane. Each of the first, second, and third loop members are configured as a respective single axis magnetic coil, and the first, second, and third loop members are collectively configured to function as a three axis magnetic sensor.

摘要: A medical apparatus, used to acquire electrical activity of patient anatomy, is provided which includes an elongated body and a tip portion coupled to the elongated body. The tip portion includes one or more inflatable sections. Each inflatable section has a plurality of electrodes disposed on one of: (i) an outer surface of the one or more inflatable sections; and (ii) an inner surface and the outer surface of the one or more inflatable sections. The one or more inflatable sections, when inflated, cause a portion of the plurality of electrodes to contact a surface of an organ and provide a pathway for physiological fluid to flow through the tip portion. In one embodiment, the tip portion is a tulip balloon tip portion. In another embodiment, the tip portion is an inflatable tip portion having one or more concentrically wound inflatable sections.

摘要: Methods are disclosed which involve a catheter having a distal end that includes electrically and thermally conducting inner and outer layers, a polymer layer between the inner and outer layers, thermal bridges selectively positioned between the inner and outer layers through the polymer layer to transfer heath between the two layers through the polymer layer. An ablation method includes inserting the distal end into a body of a subject, contacting tissue with the outer layer, passing ablation current via the outer layer into tissue such that heat is transferred to the inner layer via the thermal bridges, and passing irrigation fluid through irrigation channels through the inner layer, outer layer, and polymer layer to evacuate heath from the inner layer into blood.

摘要: Catheterization of the heart is carried out using a framework formed by a plurality of electrically conducting wire loops. The wire loops are modeled as polygons, each subdivided into a plurality of triangles. The wire loops are exposed to magnetic fluxes at respective frequencies, and signals read from the loops. Theoretical magnetic fluxes in the polygons are computed as sums of theoretical magnetic fluxes in the triangles thereof. The location and orientation of the framework in the heart is determined by relating the computed theoretical magnetic fluxes to the signals.
