Abstract: A network node for a wireless telecommunications network, and a method of operating a network node, are disclosed. Abstract: This disclosure provides a method in a cellular telecommunications network, wherein the cellular telecommunications network includes a first transceiver configured to provide a first access connection for a first mobile network operator in a first spectrum range and a second transceiver configured to provide a second access connection for a second mobile network operator in a second spectrum range, the method including determining that a condition for initiating spectrum sharing has been met, wherein the condition for initiating spectrum sharing is based on a capacity demand for the first mobile network operator exceeding a capacity available for the first mobile network operator and/or a peak rate demand for the first mobile network operator exceeding a maximum peak rate available for the first mobile network operator; in response to the determination, identifying a spectrum sharing solution in which: the first transceiver is configured to provide the first access connection for the first mobile network operator in the second spectrum range, and a capacity of the first access connection using the second spectrum range meets the capacity demand for the first mobile network operator; and reconfiguring the base station according to the identified spectrum sharing solution.

Abstract: A method of operating a wireless telecommunications network includes identifying a signal coverage area of a moving base station, that forms part of a first telecommunications network, to which to allocate a first physical network identifier, determining a second physical network identifier for enabling user equipment to access an access point that serves the identified signal coverage area, wherein the access point is stationary relative to the moving base station and forms part of a second wireless telecommunications network, and associating the first physical network identifier with the second physical network identifier. The method further includes allocating the first physical network identifier to the moving base station to allow user equipment within the signal coverage area to access the moving base station via the first physical network identifier when the moving base station is providing a telecommunications signal in the identified signal coverage area.

Abstract: In a cellular telecommunications system, outage management is managed in respect of each cell B by a nominated neighbor cell A, the identity of which is recorded in a neighbor list for cell B. If a cell C, D, other than the nominated neighbor, detects a suspected outage in a cell B, the cell detecting the outage identifies the nominated neighbor A from the neighbor list of cell B, and transmits an outage report to the nominated neighbor cell A, which coordinates a handover and outage management process. This avoids multiple detections of the same outage resulting in conflicting attempts to manage the recovery process. Selection of the nominated neighbor of a cell B may be made autonomously by the cell itself or by a centralized processor, and may be done in such a way as to support network resilience by avoiding reciprocity between cells, selecting, for a cell B connected to a first backhaul system, a nominated neighbor A using a second backhaul system, and avoiding the use of cells E having intermittent or transient connections to the network.
