Abstract: This disclosure relates to a method of operating a cellular telecommunications network, the cellular telecommunications network including a first base station for a first mobile network operator, a second base station, and a management node, the management node being configured to determine, based on a tracking area code, whether a base station associated with the tracking area code supports a circuit switched voice service. The method can include determining that at least a part of the first base station should enter energy saving mode; in response to the determination, identifying an energy saving solution that ensures continuity of the first circuit switched voice service; causing reconfiguration of the first base station according to the identified energy saving solution so that: the first circuit switched voice service supported by the first base station enters energy saving mode and, the first base station uses a first tracking area code indicating that the first base station does not support the first circuit switched voice service; and continuing support of the first circuit switched voice service by the second base station, wherein the second base station uses a second tracking area code indicating that the second base station supports the first circuit switched voice service.

Abstract: This disclosure provides a method of configuring a first access point in a wireless telecommunications network, the first access point being one of a first plurality of access points, the method including obtaining time-series performance data for each access point of the first plurality of access points; determining a similarity value between the time-series performance data of each access point of the first plurality of access points and the time-series performance data of each other access point of the first plurality of access points using a dynamic time warping technique; based on the similarity values, identifying a first plurality of clusters of the first plurality of access points, the first access point being a member of a first cluster of the first plurality of clusters; identifying a configuration for the first access point based on its association with the first cluster; and causing the identified configuration of the first access point.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a method in a cellular telecommunications network, the cellular telecommunications network having a plurality of base stations each having at least one transmitter, each transmitter having at least one coverage area, the method including a first transmitter operating in a first state so as to transmit within a first coverage area according to a first cellular communications protocol only; receiving a request for service according to a second cellular communications protocol in the first coverage area; and, in response, the first transmitter operating in a second state so as to transmit within the first coverage area according to both the first cellular communications protocol and a second cellular communications protocol, wherein the second cellular communications protocol is an older generation than the first cellular communications protocol.
