Abstract: Optical sensors can be used for content generation using an input device without a touch sensitive surface. In some examples, the optical sensors can be used to detect characteristics of the input device including position, orientation, and/or motion of the input device. In some examples, some or all of the characteristics of the input device can be used in processing to generate content, including textual character input and three-dimensional objects. In some examples, the generation of content can use information from one or more additional sensors of the input device and/or from additional devices in combination with the characteristics of the input device based on the optical sensors.

Abstract: Generating a 3D representation of a subject includes obtaining image data of a subject, obtaining tracking data for the subject based on the image data, and determining, for a particular frame of the image data, a velocity of the subject in the image data. A transparency treatment is applied to a portion of the virtual representation in accordance with the determined velocity. The portion of the virtual representation to which the transparency treatment is applied includes a shoulder region of the subject.

The coherence-based measurement may provide sub-surface information, e.g., depth, cross section, or a volumetric model of the eye, based on reflections/scattering of light (e.g., using relatively long wavelength light to penetrate into the eye tissue).

Abstract: Acoustic optical integrity detection system architectures and methods can be used to detect optical integrity of an optical component by detecting a discontinuity on and/or in the optical component (e.g., on the optical surface and/or within the bulk of the optical component). In some examples, integrity detection can be used to ensure safety compliance of an optical system, optionally including a laser. Acoustic integrity detection can utilize transducers (e.g., piezoelectric transducers) to transmit ultrasonic waves along an optical surface and/or through the thickness of an optical component. A discontinuity of the optical surface can interact with the transmitted wave causing attenuation, redirection and/or reflection of at least a portion of the transmitted wave. Portions of the transmitted wave energy after interaction with the discontinuity can be measured to determine discontinuity location, type, and/or severity.
