    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for a natural language question answering service to provide answers to natural language questions regarding network-based services or computing domains. The natural language question answering service may receive the natural language question from a customer computing device. An aggregator of the natural language question answering service can retrieve passages from search systems based on the question and generate a prompt. A large language model (LLM) of the natural language question answering service may receive the prompt and provide an answer. The answer may be verified by a verifier of the natural language question answering service. Attribution may be applied to the answers and retrieved passages to produce references, inline citations, and similar questions. A watermarking module of the natural language question answering service may watermark the answer if it is verified.

    Abstract: Techniques for intelligent task-oriented multi-turn dialog system automation are described. A seq2seq ML model can be trained using a corpus of training data and a loss function that is based at least in part on a distance to a goal. The seq2seq ML model can be provided a user utterance as an input, and a vector of a plurality of values output by a plurality of hidden units of a decoder of the seq2seq ML model can be used to select one or more candidate responses to the user utterance via a nearest neighbor algorithm. In some embodiments, the specially adapted seq2seq ML model can be trained using unsupervised learning, and can be adapted to select intelligent, coherent agent responses that move a task-oriented dialog toward its completion.

The system generates a natural language output based at least in part on the natural language input. The natural language output solicits an additional natural language input for the dialog. The system determines an updated state representation of the dialog based at least in part on the additional natural language input and the state representation. The updated state representation indicates parameter value(s) for the operation. Based at least in part on the updated state representation, the system generates a command invoking the operation with the parameter value(s).
