Abstract: Described is an apparatus to concurrently measure multiple input voltages at a high sampling data rate, such as at least two mega-samples per second. The apparatus may include a plurality of voltage data acquisition components that concurrently sample different input voltages and produce respective voltage data samples. Each of the plurality of voltage data acquisition components may be directly coupled to a field programmable gate array that receives the voltage data samples, packetizes those voltage data samples, and provide the packetized voltage data samples to a system on chip.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for optimizing battery life in an electronic device. The device is configured to make periodic assessments of battery capacity by measuring the DC resistance value of the battery cell. The temperature of the battery cell and/or other characteristics of the device are used to determine a threshold DC resistance level. If the measured DC resistance value reaches a determined threshold level, the device can initiate a power-saving mode in which an operating parameter of the device is adjusted to decrease power consumption.

Abstract: Devices and methods are provided for dynamically switching states of remote control devices. A remote control device may receive voice data from a user, send the voice data to another device which may pass the voice signals to a server. The server may determine instructions associated with responding to the voice signals and send the instructions to the other device, which may convert the instructions to remote control commands. The other device may send the commands along with state information to the remote control device, allowing the remote control device to emit commands determined by the other device and to map other command signals to possible inputs which the remote control device may receive.

Abstract: Approaches discussed herein enable a computing device to be tested to determine whether light from an emitter is bleeding through the device, which can be indicative of an assembly failure. A light blocking member can be placed over a camera in order to prevent a camera from capturing light coming from outside the device. At least one light source of the device then can be caused to emit light, and the camera can capture at least one image to determine whether any of the light is bleeding through the device and being detected by the camera. If so, the device can be determined to fail the test, and can be sent for reassembly or another remedial action. In some cases, a type of failure might be able to be determined, and information for the failure can be logged for purposes such as quality assurance and failure rate monitoring.
