Abstract:
The present invention relates to a reaction system whereby a peptide produced in an in vitro peptide synthesis system can be efficiently isolated at a high purity from the reaction system. Thus the present invention is a process for producing a peptide or a peptide derivative by using a reaction system of transcribing a DNA into an RNA and then translating the RNA produced or a reaction system of translating an RNA in vitro wherein at least one protein component of the reaction system is labeled with a first substance which adheres to a second substance, and said second substance is used as an adsorbent for capturing said labeled protein components after translating.
Abstract:
A card convey device includes a first convey path, a second convey path, a third convey path, jam detector, convey controller, and card sorter. The first convey path conveys a loaded card. The second convey path is branched from the first convey path and conveys a non-defective card distributed from cards conveyed from the first convey path. The third convey path is branched from the first convey path and conveys a defective card distributed from the cards conveyed from the first convey path. The jam detector detects jam of a card occurring in each of the first, second, and third convey paths. The convey controller conveys a card through each of the first, second, and third convey paths at a predetermined speed, stops a convey operation of the card when the jam detector detects jam of the card, and reconveys the card in response to a reconvey command. The card sorter distributes the card conveyed from the first convey path to one of the first and second convey paths on the basis of non-defective/defective information of the card, and forcibly distributes a reconveyed card from the first convey path to the third convey path.
Abstract:
Provided is dried porous membrane composed of acrylonitrile polymer walls separating predominantly interconnecting small-size pores. The membrane has surface layers integrated with a support layer to form a single continuous acrylonitrile polymer phase. At least one of the surface layers has pores of from 0.001 to 0.05 micron in average size, and the support layer has pores which are on the average larger than the pores in the surface layer or layers. The membrane has a porosity of from 20% to 70% by volume and a fragility of below 30. The membrane exhibits improved mechanical properties.
Abstract:
The invention provides a digital broadcast receiver for receiving broadcast waves comprising multiplexed broadcast signals of a plurality of channels including a main channel and a subchannel. The receiver comprises demodulator circuits for demodulating received data of one of the channels selected and outputting the resulting data, a memory capable of storing received data as to a program transmitted on the subchannel, and a controller for writing the received data as to the program transmitted on the subchannel to the memory while updating the received data at all times, and reading the received data stored in the memory from the head of the program and feeding the read data to the demodulator circuits upon a changeover from the main channel to the subchannel. When the main channel is changed over to the subchannel, the program broadcast on the subchannel can be listened to always from the beginning.
Abstract:
A homogeneous electrorheological fluid is disclosed, which mainly comprises a liquid crystal compound in which a plurality of liquid crystal groups are bonded to a molecular chain either directly or via a spacer, or comprises a lyotropic liquid crystal comprising a solute and a solvent. The electrorheological fluid exhibits higher electrorheological effects as well as high response rate and low power driving properties while being free from sedimentation or flocculation.
Abstract:
An electroviscous fluid which consists essentially of a non-conductive liquid and, dispersed therein, anhydrous spherical multilayered particles comprising particles at least whose surfaces are conductive and, formed thereon, a non-conductive layer having a thickness of about 0.1 to 1 .mu.m. The electroviscous fluid is stable at both ambient temperature and elevated temperatures, i.e., up to at least about 200.degree. C. in an applied electric potential with an alternating current or a pulsating direct current.
Abstract:
A thin flat cathode-ray tube can optimize stress which is generated in each part also when its screen size is increased and maintains high reliability particularly in connection strength in a joint portion between a front glass vessel and a back metal vessel, without deteriorating the joint portion in reliability also in working for mounting electric signal input terminals and an exhaust pipe on the back metal vessel. In the flat cathode-ray tube which is formed by joining side surface portions of the front glass vessel and the back metal vessel with each other, the back metal vessel has the side surface portion of a prescribed width extending along that of the front glass vessel and a bottom surface portion opposed to a fluorescent screen of the front glass vessel, while the bottom surface portion is depressed by a prescribed amount toward the fluorescent portion and a corner portion connecting the side surface portion with the bottom surface portion is at a prescribed radius of curvature.
Abstract:
A light guide includes a first incident portion at an end side thereof near a light source, a stepped portion disposed on a rear surface side thereof in an axial direction and wholly reflects a portion of guided light, and a radiating portion disposed on a front surface side thereof in the axial direction that radiates the wholly reflected light forward. The light guide guides light that is incident through the first incident portion from front to back within the light guide. The stepped portion is a plurality of generally triangular prisms formed continuous in an extension direction, and has, in a cross section that follows an extension axis of the light guide and is parallel to a lamp optical axis, a long first projection surface that extends in the extension direction and a short second projection surface that forms an apex angle with the first projection surface.

Abstract:
A vehicle lamp includes, within a lamp chamber formed by a lamp body and a front cover, a light source, a columnar light guide having an incident portion at the end thereof in the vicinity of the light source, and an annular reflecting portion arranged in the vicinity of the light source side of the incident portion. The columnar light guide guides incident light from the light source, which enters via the incident portion, and irradiates the incident light from a light-emitting portion on a front side. The annular reflecting portion reflects light with a large emission angle, which has not been able to directly enter the incident portion from the light source, toward the incident portion. The light source is arranged on a central axis of the annular reflecting portion.
