This invention provides a process for producing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, the process comprising: (1) a first reaction step of reacting hydrogen fluoride with at least one chlorine-containing compound selected from the group consisting of a chloropropane represented by Formula (1): CClX2CHClCH2Cl, wherein each X is the same or different and is CI or F, a chloropropene represented by Formula (2): CClY2CCl═CH2, wherein each Y is the same or different and is CI or F, and a chloropropene represented by Formula (3): CZ2═CClCH2Cl, wherein each Z is the same or different and is CI or F in a gas phase in the absence of a catalyst while heating; and (2) a second reaction step of reacting hydrogen fluoride with a reaction product obtained in the first reaction step in a gas phase in the presence of a fluorination catalyst while heating. According to the process of this invention, 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) can be obtained with high selectivity, and catalyst deterioration can be suppressed.

A rotor for a superconducting rotating electric machine comprises a cylindrical coil-carrying shaft in which are formed a plurality of parallel coil slots. In the teeth of the shaft adjoining the corners and the arcuate portions of the slots, recesses are formed, and movement prevention means comprising retaining plates, support members, and retaining members which prevent the movement of the wedges and coils in the adjoining coil slots are secured in the recesses by bolts or the like. The provision of the recesses makes it possible to insert previously-wound field coils into the coil slots, and the movement prevention means prevents the movement of the wedges and the coils in the slots. As the movement prevention means is detachable, the inspection and repair of the field coils is facilitated.

A rotor for a superconducting rotating electric machine has pre-wound rotor coils housed in longitudinally-extending slots formed in a coil-carrying shaft. Each coil is restrained against circumferential forces by a plurality of rigid restraining members which are inserted between one side of the coil and the side of the slot in which the coil is housed. The restraining members are disposed on top of one another in layers corresponding to the number of layers in the coils. Preferably, they are made of an electrically-insulating material. A plurality of longitudinally-aligned restraining members may be employed for each layer of the coil. The restraining members for each layer may be disposed with gaps left therebetween in the longtudinal direction and packings disposed in the gaps.

An improved rotor for a superconducting rotating electric machine has the arcuate portions and the corners of superconducting field coils housed in circumferentially-extending coil slots of a coil-carrying shaft. Retaining rings which are shrink-fit on the coil-carrying shaft over the circumferentially-extending slots restrains the arcuate portions and the corners of the coils against centrifugal forces. Retaining members are disposed between adjacent coils and are rigidly secured by connectors to the bottom surface of the circumferentially-extending slots by bolts or the like. The retaining members completely fill the spaces between adjacent coils and prevent the movement of the arcuate portions and corners of the field coils. Preferably, the retaining members are made of the same material as the coil-carrying shaft or of titanium or a titanium alloy.
