摘要: A modification method for reducing emissions from an annular shaped combustor of a gas turbine plant, having uniformly spaced circumferentially mounted premix burners (20), includes the steps of: removing at least one burner (20), thereby disrupting the spatial uniformity of the remaining the burners (20); and modifying the combustor air distribution system so as to compensate for the increased burner pressure drop of the remaining burners, thus enabling the modified combustor to operate at a load equivalent to the unmodified combustor. Emission reduction is enabled by the increase in the gas velocity of the burner for a given load further enabled by the flame stabilizing effect of disrupting the spatial uniformity.

摘要: The invention relates to a steam generator, which consists of a combustion chamber (1), a radiation part (2) and a convection part (3) and which has at least two vertical gas passes (4, 5) following the combustion chamber (1), in each case with a 180.degree. deflection of the flue gas (12), the combustion chamber (1) and the gas pass (4) being separated from one another by means of a first partition (14) and the two gas passes (4, 5) being separated from one another by means of a second partition (6). It is defined in that the second partition (6) is designed, at its lower end, in such a way that the passage area for the flue gas (12) from the vertical pass (4) with downward flow to the vertical pass (5) with upward flow has a variable value over the width, the passage area being smaller in the middle than on the outside. The secondary flow occurring during deflection is thereby reinforced, in the wall region the vortices of said secondary flow rotating opposite to the direction of the main flow deflection. The discharge of dust is considerably improved in this way.

摘要: A wave speed meter comprises a pair of relatively rotatable, concentric cylinders with a gap between the cylinders to define a chamber. A viscoelastic fluid is placed in the chamber, and one of the cylinders is suddenly rotationally displaced causing a shear induced wave to be propagated through the fluid filling the chamber between the cylinders. This wave is propagated toward the other cylinder and when the wave reaches the other cylinder the other cylinder moves. The transit time of the wave is determined by measuring the time between the displacement of the one cylinder and movement of the other cylinder as a result of the wave. The distance that the wave travels is known, so that the wave speed can be determined. In the form shown a counter is initiated at the time the one cylinder is displaced, and then disabled at the time when the other cylinder moves, using electro-optical techniques that are simple to utilize because mirrors can be mounted on the two cylinders and the motion of the cylinders can be amplified by properly locating the sensors that sense the beams reflected by the mirrors.
