Abstract:
Methods, systems and apparatus for a user equipment to implement a dynamic discard timer. The user equipment may generate a packet for transmission and store the packet in a buffer of the user equipment. The user equipment may then generate a timeout value for a discard timer for the buffer, where the discard timer discards the packet from the buffer when the timeout value is reached. After a predetermined amount of time, the user equipment may determine whether the packet has been discarded from the buffer and, when it is determined that the packet has not been discarded from the buffer, update the timeout value.
Abstract:
Performing wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) device communicating with a first wireless network and a second wireless network using a single radio. The UE device may receive a page message directed to the UE device from the first wireless network. In response to receiving the page message, the UE device may provide an extended service request (ESR) message to the second wireless network. After providing the ESR message, the UE device may respond to the page message on the first wireless network.
Abstract:
A method performed by a station that includes receiving information from a cell of a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN), determining whether the information indicates the cell supports circuit switched fallback (CSFB) voice calls, when the CSFB voice calls are not supported, determining whether at least one packet switched voice property of the station satisfies a predetermined condition and attaching to the cell of the PLMN when the predetermined condition is satisfied. A further method performed by a station connected to a PLMN that includes identifying cells of the PLMN available for the station to camp on, determining whether the station is capable of executing packet switched calls, when the station is not capable of executing packet switched calls, determining whether the identified cells have a neighbor cell that supports CSFB voice calls and prioritizing the cells that are identified as having neighbor cells that support CSFB voice calls.
Abstract:
A method for responding to a page message is provided. The method can include a wireless communication device receiving a page message on a first channel of a first network; suspending a connection to a second network in response to receiving the page message; transitioning to a second channel of the first network prior to responding to the page message; and sending a response message responsive to the page message on the second channel.
