Abstract: A processing device of a mobile device determines an activity level for a hardware component of the mobile device based on activity information associated with the hardware component. The processing device computes a score for the hardware component based on the activity level and a power consumption value of the hardware component, wherein the power consumption value indicates an amount of power used by the hardware component. The processing device determines whether to deactivate the hardware component based on the score.

Abstract: A modular recharging system includes an electronic device that includes an internal battery, and a removable battery pack that the electronic device can use to boost the power of its internal battery. Typically, the battery pack will have a larger battery than the internal battery of the device. Based on threshold charge levels for the internal battery, the electronic device turns on and off power from the battery pack so as to preserve the life of the battery pack. Processor interrupts generated in response to the threshold levels may also be selectively masked to reduce power consumption.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for quickly readying a device when charging a dead battery. For example, a device may enter a hibernation mode when the battery becomes critically low and may resume normal operation from the hibernation mode when an external power source is connected to the device. While the battery is critically low but the device is connected to the external power source, the device may generate a visible indication, such as a watermark, and apply the watermark to content to allow a user to control the device while indicating to the user that the battery is critically low and should not be removed from the external power source. Thus, the device may reduce user-perceived latency from when the external power source is connected to when the device resumes system interactivity (e.g., being responsive to user input).
