    Abstract: An approach is provided for addressing in a multiple carrier communication system. In one embodiment, a group index is assigned to a group of terminals of a communication network. The group index permits sharing of addressing indices supported by the communication network for transmission of data to the group of terminals. In another embodiment, a plurality of terminals is classified using preamble indices corresponding to the terminals into one or more classes. A multi-user packet, which utilizes the preamble indices to activate only a class of the terminals for processing the multi-user packet, is generated.

Because the gene is frequently deleted in liver cancer cells, but present in normal cells, it is thought to act as a tumor suppressor. This gene is also frequently deleted in breast and colon cancers, and its expression is decreased or undetectable in many prostate and colon cancers. Also disclosed is the amino acid sequence of the protein encoded by the DLC-1 gene. Methods of using these biological materials in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatocellular cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and adenocarcinomas are presented.

    Abstract: A method for determining whether to perform IFHO (inter-frequency handover) of a UF apparatus from one cell to another and from one carrier frequency to another in a TD-CDMA telecommunications network (including e.g. a TD-SCDMA network)—based separately on coverage and capacity, using one decision metric for coverage (e.g. based on received signal code power for each candidate cell and each candidate carrier frequency) and a different decision metric for capacity (e.g. based on a quantity proportional to the received signal code power and inversely proportional to the difference between a received signal strength indicator and the received signal code power). Corresponding equipment and a computer program product is also provided. In deciding whether IFHO is needed based on capacity, a threshold for received signal code power may be used in addition to the metric for capacity.
