Abstract:
An image retrieval method and an image retrieval apparatus are disclosed in which it is possible to identify in which image-information recording medium or in which group an image to be retrieved is included. The image retrieval apparatus has a recording controller for recording image information on a disk drive or a hard disk drive. A reduction/expansion controller generates an index picture of a predetermined group of the image information. A retrieval-information storage unit generates index picture IDs, medium IDs, and folder IDs while correlating the above different types of IDs with each other, and stores the IDs together with the index pictures. With this arrangement, a desired item of image information is retrieved by using the index pictures, the index picture IDs, the medium IDs, and the folder IDs. It is thus possible to obtain a target image by sequentially checking the index picture visually.
Abstract:
An image forming device is disclosed which includes a problem detection unit for detecting problem, and problem alert unit for alerting a user to the detection of a problem. Until an initially detected problem A has been resolved, the problem alert unit will not issue a problem alert based upon a subsequently detected problem B. Consequently, when working to resolve a problem, if a subsequent problem B is detected, the detection of the problem B will be disregarded, and a problem alert will not be issued (by a buzzer or the like), and thus the user can devote themselves to resolving problem A without being disturbed by the buzzer or the like.
Abstract:
After images are read, a user designates an image data for identifying a file, stores and registers the designated image data as a representative image data associating with the file. When a print request is made, the representative image data is displayed on the image processing apparatus. The representative image data for identifying a desired file is selected from the plurality of displayed representative image data and printed out.
Abstract:
This image forming device is arranged such that desired functions and their respective setting details can be allocated to shortcut keys, and titles and icons representing the functions allocated to the shortcut keys can also be designated for the shortcut keys and displayed on the shortcut keys. Accordingly, when executing a function allocated to a shortcut key, the operator can select the desired function according to the indication on the shortcut key without having to refer to the operations manual or the like. Also, the operator can start the image forming operation for executing the function together with its setting details only by a pressing operation on the shortcut key, being spared operations for setting such details of the selected function. As a result, the number of times of key operations by the operator is reduced, thereby improving the operability.
Abstract:
A digital image forming equipment in which image is formed by reflecting and scanning laser light emitted from a source of light onto a photo-sensitive body by means of a polygon mirror driven and rotated by a drive motor, so composed that the rotation of the polygon motor can be started when operating the operating portions installed thereon and can be stopped in the elapse of a specified period of time after the image forming operation is terminated, and a digital image forming equipment so composed that the drive motor can be started by detecting existence of an operator when the operator approaches the image forming equipment and can be stopped in the elapse of a specified period of time after the image forming operation is terminated.
Abstract:
A color display liquid crystal composition comprising a nematic liquid crystal having positive dielectric anisotropy, an optically active substance and a dichroic dye mixture consisting of a dichroic reddish purple diazo dye (1,4-naphthylene derivative) and a dichroic red diazo dye (1,4-phenylene derivative). This composition is suitable for use in a guest-host type color liquid crystal display device.

Abstract:
An image reading device and image forming device has an operation device provided with keys for reducing the number of operations. A shortcut key display screen having a shortcut key to which an arbitrary function among a plurality of functions may be allocated thereto is displayable on a display unit. At least one function setting screen has an allocation instruction key for allocating a function to the shortcut key. When the allocation instruction key is selected, a series of functions set, before the function setting screen having the allocation instruction key is displayed on the display screen, is allocated to the shortcut key.
Abstract:
In a liquid crystal mixture comprising a nematic liquid crystal having negative dielectric anisotropy, an optically active substance such as cholesteric or chiral nematic liquid crystal, a dichroic dye and an ionic substance, the present invention is characterized by use of 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid having the following structural formula as the ionic substance: ##STR1##
