    摘要: A liquid crystal display device has a position information input device over an image-displaying surface of liquid crystal panel. The position information input device is formed by a first substrate and a second substrate more easily deformable than the first substrate. A transparent insulation film is provided over a surface of the first substrate opposed to the second substrate. By providing a first transparent electrode on the transparent insulation film, the flatness of the first transparent electrode is improved and a connection failure of the position information input device is prevented.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates, a liquid crystal layer sealed between main surfaces of the substrates, a sealing member formed on peripheral portions of opposing main surfaces of a pair of these substrates to fixedly secure the pair of substrates to each other and surround the liquid crystal layer, and a light shielding film formed on one of the peripheral portions of the pair of substrates opposite to the liquid crystal layer without manual application. A region on which the light shielding film is formed is overlapped on a region of the main surface of one of the pair of substrates on which the seal member is formed in a back-to-back relationship, and light shielding film is formed of polyester-based resin to which a black pigment is added.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device is constructed such that a liquid crystal layer is sandwiched between an upper substrate, which is provided with upper transparent electrodes for forming pixels, and a lower substrate, which is provided with lower transparent electrodes disposed so as to intersect with the upper transparent electrodes. The liquid crystal panel includes a half reflection layer having a reflection function and a transmission function which is formed on the inner surface of the lower substrate as a lower layer of the lower transparent electrodes; an upper retardation film, an upper polarizing plate, and a light diffusing plate which are laminated on the upper substrate; and a lower retardation film and a lower polarizing plate, which are laminated on the surface of the lower substrate. Due to such a construction, the half reflection type liquid crystal display device is capable of providing an image display of high brightness and high contrast.
