摘要： A quenching device for a hot, dirty gas stream, the quenching device being disposed between a flow-through duct carrying a hot, dirty gas stream and a housing to treat the gas, the quenching device including a pair of cooling water sources in parallel transversing the gas stream. The quenching device further includes means to prevent dirt build-up at the entrance of the housing due to entrainment of the dirt in the cooling water flowing through the gas stream.
