Abstract: Provided herein is a portable test device, mass manufacture method and method of use for identification of at least one target drug of abuse. The portable detection kit can include a catalytic reagent, a solid support carrier, and an absorbent material. The colorimetric reagent and the catalytic reagent can be are affixed to the solid support carrier to form a reaction zone thereon. The colorimetric reagent and the catalytic reagent are configured to undergo chemical reaction with at least one target drug of abuse to produce a visible color change. The at least one target drug of abuse is selected from the group consisting of nicotine, cannabinoids, amphetamines, opioids, or cocaine. A target drug of abuse can be on vaping device surfaces and/or within vaping liquid formulations.

Abstract: A portable detection kit for identifying the presence of cannabinoids is provided and includes a colorimetric dye, a catalytic reagent, a solvent, a surfactant, and a delivery device containing a solvent or solvent mixture including the solvent. The delivery device is configured to deliver a portion of the solvent or solvent mixture to a target residue to form a sample residue. The colorimetric dye is configured to undergo a chemical reaction when the sample residue contains a cannabinoid. The chemical reaction is configured to produce a visible color change that corresponds to a predetermined cannabinoid of a plurality of cannabinoids.

Abstract: Detection kits for identifying the presence of a drug are provided. In one exemplary implementation, the kit includes a dry colorimetric reagent and a delivery device containing a solvent or solvent mixture including the solvent. The delivery device is configured to deliver a portion of the solvent or solvent mixture to a target residue to form a sample residue. When at least a portion of the sample residue is brought into contact with the mixture, the mixture undergoes a chemical reaction when the sample residue contains a drug, in which the chemical reaction produces a visible color change that is indicative of the presence of the drug within the sample residue. Methods of manufacturing a detection kit are also provided.

Abstract: Provided herein, inter alia, are solvent and resin formulations comprising reduced fire and environmental risk, methods for producing sensor device for detection of any analyte, e.g., by printing reactive chemicals and dyes onto a substrate using large scale printing machines. Also provided is a method of preparing the reduced risk formulations and sensor device, and methods of using the sensor device. Further provided is a sensor system including an ink and a solid support. The ink includes at least one reactive chemical or dye, a co-solvent, and a resin composition chosen for reduced fire and environmental impact risk. The ink is applied (e.g., printed) on a surface of the solid support. The reactive chemical or dye is configured to undergo a chemical reaction with gunshot residue (e.g., post blast residues associated with historical and modern day black powders used in bullet manufacture) that produces a presumptive colorimetric indication.
