    摘要: A layered photoconductive imaging member comprised of a supporting substrate, a photogenerating layer comprised of titanyl phthalocyanine photogenerating pigments and thereover a charge transport layer, and wherein said photogenerating pigments are prepared by a process which comprises the formation of a slurry comprised of dihalotitanium phthalocyanine in a mixture comprised of a trihaloacetic acid and an alkylene chloride; adding the resultant slurry to a mixture of an aliphatic alcohol and water enabling hydrolysis whereby Type X oxytitanium phthalocyanine is obtained; separating the Type X oxytitanium phthalocyanine from the slurry; and thereafter subjecting the Type X oxytitanium phthalocyanine obtained to treatment with a halobenzene, followed by the separation of Type IV oxytitanium phthalocyanine photogenerating pigments.

    摘要: There is disclosed a process for the production of unsymmetrical, substituted diarylamines by the reaction of a primary aromatic amine and a substituted phenol wherein the phenol is held in excess of the primary aromatic amine thereby minimizing by-product formation as a result of self-condensation of the primary arylamine. The desired secondary amine is produced in high yield and purity by recycling the unreacted phenol.

    摘要: There is disclosed a process for the direct iodination of polyarylidene compounds to provide highly pure para-substituted diiodo derivatives. The polyarylidene compound is reacted with iodine in the presence of an oxidant, unreactive with the aromatic nucleus, in a reaction medium containing a solvent for the polyarylidene compound, a catalyst and water. The reaction medium is recovered for reuse in subsequent reactions by the removal of spent oxidant which, in the preferred embodiment, is based upon the temperature dependent differences in solubility between the diiodo derivative and the spent oxidant.
