    摘要: A process is for producing electrophotographically active titanylphthalocyanine. In the process, which has an improved space-time yield, titanylphthalocyanine is dissolved in pentafluoropropionic acid and a solvent of the group comprising halogenated alkanes/aromatic compounds or halogenated alkanes/aromatic compounds and sulphonic acids. The active form is precipitated by precipitation with water in the presence of a further polar organic solvent. A mixture of pentafluoropropionic acid and methylene chloride and a mixture of p-toluene sulphonic acid and methane sulphonic acid are particularly suitable as solvents. The precipitated product processes very good electrophotographic properties.

    摘要: A process for preparing a hydroxymetal phthalocyanine pigment containing a central metal atom selected from aluminum, gallium, indium, silicon, germanium and tin and having a novel crystal form is disclosed, comprising treating a precursor of a hydroxymetal phthalocyanine pigment with an acid and treating the precipitated hydroxymetal phthalocyanine pigment with a solvent under an acidic condition. The resulting hydroxymetal phthalocyanine pigment includes hydroxygallium crystals showing distinct diffraction peaks at Bragg angles (2.theta..+-.0.2.degree.) of (1) 8.2.degree., 12.4.degree., 16.5.degree. and 26.3.degree. or (2) 6.8.degree., 12.5.degree. and 26.4.degree.. The resulting hydroxymetal phthalocyanine pigment exhibits high photosensitivity and excellent stability as a charge generating material of an electrophotographic photoreceptor.

    摘要: The first aspect of this invention resides in providing an .alpha.-type titanyl phthalocyanine composition comprising an .alpha.-type titanyl phthalocyanine and metal-free phthalocyanine. This .alpha.-type titanyl phthalocyanine composition is stable, wide in range of absorption wavelengths, and high in spectral sensitivity because it contains an .alpha.-type titanyl phthalocyanine in combination with metal-free phthalocyanine.The second aspect of this invention resides in providing a method for the production of an .alpha.-type titanyl phthalocyanine composition comprising an .alpha.-type titanyl phthalocyanine and a metal-free phthalocyanine, which method comprises pigmenting a concentrated sulfuric acid solution containing at least titanyl phthalocyanine by the acid paste process consisting in pouring said concentrated sulfuric acid solution into water. By this method, an .alpha.-type titanyl phthalocyanine composition stable to withstand the impact of aging can be easily produced.The third aspect of this invention resides in providing an electrophotographic sensitive material having superposed on an electroconductive substrate a sensitive layer compring an .alpha.-type titanyl phthalocyanine and a metal-free phthalocyanine. This electrophotographic sensitive material excels in charging property and dark attenuation property and exhibits high sensitivity and sparing residual potential.The fourth aspect of this invention resides in providing an electrophotographic sensitive material having superposed on an electroconductive substrate a sensitive layer comprising an .alpha.-type titanyl phthalocyanine composition and an electric charge transferring material exhibiting oxidation potential in the range of 0.45 to 0.65 eV. This electrophotographic sensitive material enjoys high sensitivity and shows sparing residual potential.

    摘要: The conversion of metal-free and metalliferous polyhalophthalocyanines into a pigmentary form by treatment of the crude pigment with a sulfuric acid monophenol ester or a reaction product of a phenol which is practically inert to nuclear sulfonation under the reaction conditions with chlorosulfonic acid or oleum. The treatment mixture then has water added to it and it is stirred for cleavage at 80* to 150*C and then aqueous sulfuric acid phase is separated and the pigment is isolated after the addition of an agent having an alkaline reaction so that the phenol passes into solution.
