摘要： A variable valve gear for an internal combustion engine includes: a cam base portion integrally or separately provided in a camshaft, and immovably fixed to the camshaft; a cam lobe portion connected to the cam base portion so as to swing and shift between a first state where the cam lobe portion is positioned to project from an outer circumference of the base portion and a second state where the cam lobe portion is positioned to be lower than the cam base portion in the first state; a lock mechanism locking the cam lobe portion in the first and second state; and a biasing member biasing the cam lobe portion to be shifted to the first state, to such an extent that the cam lobe portion is shifted to the second state by reaction force from a cam follower when the locking mechanism is unlocked.

摘要： When two or more sheets of images, which have been read from two or more sheets of originals are printed on a single sheet of first printing paper, original information related to the originals is stored into an IC chip attached to the first printing paper. Thereafter, when a user desires to reproduce the originals by using this first printing paper, the original information stored in the IC chip is read therefrom. Based on the read original information, the images read from the originals are printed respectively in the same sizes as those of the respective originals.

摘要： An image output control apparatus is capable of outputting normal images and stereo images from an output unit to a display device or a printer so that the normal images and the stereo images may be distinguishable. The image output control apparatus includes an image type determining unit that determines whether an image to be output is a stereo image or a normal image, the stereo image being composed of a pair of a left-eye image and a right-eye image, and an output form control unit that controls an image output form to distinguish a first image output form from a second image output form, the first image output form being used for outputting the stereo image, and the second image output form being used for outputting the normal image, according to the determination of the image type determining unit.

摘要： An image having no secrecy is printed on a non-secret information display area of an original paper, whereas an image having secrecy, which should be originally printed, is not printed on a secret image display area. When the original paper is copied on a printing paper, an image read from the original paper is printed on a secret image display area, whereas a secret image is printed on a non-secret information display area only when an access operation to the secret image is authenticated.

摘要： Information indicating an area of an image and information indicating attributes of the image have been stored in an IC chip attached to an original paper. When a copying apparatus performs a character recognition process operation with respect to an image displayed on the original paper, the copying apparatus reads the information related to the area of the image and the information related to the attribute of this area from the IC chip attached to this original paper. Then the copying apparatus separates an area where a character is displayed therefrom. The copying apparatus executes the character recognition process operation with respect to the image of the separated area.

摘要： The present invention provides a carrier for electrostatic image development, and a developer, an image formation method and an image formation apparatus using the carrier. The carrier is carrier particles. When the carrier particles each have a coating layer on a magnetic particle, the carrier has a total energy amount of 1500 to 3000 mJ. When the carrier particles each have a coating layer on a magnetic powder-dispersed particle, the carrier has a total energy amount of 1000 to 1500 mJ. The total energy amount is measured with a powder rheometer at a tip end speed of a rotor of 100 mm/s and a helix angle of the rotor of −5°. The total energy amount is a value of a portion of the carrier in a measurement container which portion is contained in the region between the packed surface of the carrier and a surface disposed under the packed surface by 70 mm.

摘要： An ink jet recording ink including water, a water-soluble organic solvent, and at least one dye having at least one carboxyl group in the form of a free acid, wherein at least one compound selected form secondary or tertiary amine compounds represented by the following general formula (I) and at least one compound selected from the alkali metal hydroxides are contained and the pH value thereof is from 8.5 to 12: ##STR1## wherein one or two of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 are an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain and substituted by a substituent selected from a carboxyl group, a sulfonic group, an alkali metal salt of a carboxyl group, and an alkali metal salt of a sulfonic group; and the remainder is a group selected from a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and a substituted alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain and substituted by a hydroxyl group or carbamoyl group is disclosed. The ink provides water resistance and various properties required for an ink jet recording ink.
