Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting signals from a plurality of input channels over a TDM optical network, where each of the input channels contains an optical data signal and an electrical control signal containing control information relating to the optical data signal. In accordance with the invention, respective optical receivers convert the optical data signals to respective electrical data signals, which a TDM data multiplexer time-multiplexes to generate a multiplexed data signal. A TDM control signal multiplexer time-multiplexes the electrical control signals to generate a multiplexed control signal that is combined with said multiplexed data signal to generate a composite electrical signal. An optical transmitter generates a composite optical signal from the composite electrical signal that is transmitted over the network, optionally after WDM multiplexing it with other composite optical signals. The corresponding reverse operations are performed at the receiving end to regenerate the original data and control signals.
Abstract:
An information processing system is provided which includes an interrupt table including a plurality of entries relating to interrupts requested by entries in a plurality of event queues. The entries of the interrupt table reference identifiers, and the identifiers are assigned to events from a pool of identifiers in accordance with an order in which the events occur.
Abstract:
A system, method, and article of manufacture for synchronizing first and second time-of-day clocks on first and second computers, respectively, are provided. The first and second computers have first and second network interface cards with third and fourth clocks, respectively, thereon. The system utilizes time stamp values generated by the third and fourth clocks to synchronize the first and second time-of-day clocks.
Abstract:
A time division multiplexing (TDM) facility is presented for time division multiplexing at least two inter-system channel (ISC) data streams to create a TDM multiplexed data stream. The TDM multiplexed data stream can be forwarded across the network over a single wavelength of a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) network. The TDM multiplex data stream may be wavelength division multiplexed with one or more other TDM multiplexed data stream. Different protocols are presented for maintaining disparity balance within the ISC data streams depending upon whether a given sequence in one of the data streams is an idle sequence, frame sequence or continuous sequence.
Abstract:
A Host Channel Adapter supporting a plurality of Logical Partitions is provided. A Subnet Manager, having an associated aliased Queue Pair, may run in a Logical Partition. A single physical subnet management Queue Pair and its associated firmware are provided for each physical port in the Host Channel Adapter. If a packet is to be routed to a Subnet Manager residing in a Logical Partition, the packet is enqueued on the physical port's send queue for transmission to the aliased Queue Pair for the Subnet Manager. The Host Channel Adapter hardware loops the packet back to the aliased Queue Pair in the appropriate Logical Partition. The aliased Queue Pair is also capable of transmitting packets that are looped back to a Hypervisor Subnet Management Agent.
Abstract:
The invention includes processes for the synthesis of amphetamine, dexamphetamine, methamphetamine, derivatives of these, including their salts, and novel precursors and intermediates obtained thereby, by synthesizing aziridine phosphoramidate compounds in specified solvents at specified temperatures, and then converting to a novel aryl or aryl-alkyl phosphoramidate precursors using an organometallic compound such as a copper salt, where the novel aryl or aryl-alkyl phosphoramidate precursor is then easily converted to the target compounds using known reactions.

Abstract:
A processor node of a network is provided which includes one or more processors and a virtualized channel adapter. The virtualized channel adapter is operable to reference a table to determine whether a destination of the communication is supported by the virtualized channel adapter. When the destination is supported for routing via hardware, the virtualized channel adapter is operable to route the communication via hardware to at least one of a physical port and a logical port of the virtualized channel adapter. Otherwise, when the destination is not supported for routing via hardware, the virtualized channel adapter is operable to route the communication via firmware to a virtual port of the virtualized channel adapter. A corresponding method and a recording medium having information recorded thereon for performing such method are also provided herein.
Abstract:
In a logical partitioning (LPAR) environment with InfiniBand™ host channel adapters (HCAs), multiple operating systems share the resources of a physical HCA. A mechanism for efficiently allocating memory regions (or memory windows) to different LPARs is provided, while ensuring that a memory region assigned to one LPAR is not accessible from another LPAR.
Abstract:
A low-latency queue pair (QP) is provided for I/O Adapters that eliminates the overhead associated with work queue elements (WQEs) and defines the mechanisms necessary to allow the placement of the message directly on the queue pair.
