    摘要: A digital magnetic reproducing apparatus comprises a reproducing head to reproduce data from a magnetic recording medium; an equalizer for shaping, by a partial response method, the waveform of the reproduced signal outputted from the reproducing head; and a decoder for decoding, by a maximum likelihood decoding method, the equalized reproduced signal obtained from the equalizer. The reproducing head employed in this apparatus is an MR (magnetoresistance effect) head which is capable of reducing the second harmonic distortion of the reproduced signal to be -25 dB or lower. Therefore the deterioration of the bit error rate that may result from the nonlinear distortion of the MR head can be further lowered within a sufficiently suppressed range in practical use.

    摘要: Provided is a microscope including: dark field illumination and bright field illumination which illuminate a preparat where a sample mounted on a slide glass is covered with a cover glass and a mounting agent; an image capturing unit which acquires a dark field image by image-capturing the preparat illuminated by the dark field illumination and which acquires a bright field image by image-capturing the preparat illuminated by the bright field illumination; and a magnified portion image acquisition area determination unit which detects an edge of the cover glass in the preparat based on the dark field image and the bright field image acquired by the image capturing unit and determines an internal area of the detected edge of the cover glass as a magnified portion image acquisition area of the sample.

    摘要: An optical disk apparatus driving an optical disk includes a tilt-angle adjusting unit configured to adjust a tilt angle indicating the tilt of an optical axis of laser light emitted from a pickup to detect an optimal tilt angle at which a traverse signal has the maximum amplitude and a storing unit configured to store information about the optimal tilt angle. When the optical disk has multiple recording layers on one side, the tilt-angle adjusting unit adjusts the tilt angle with respect to each of the multiple recording layers to detect the optimal tilt angle and the storing unit stores information about the optimal tilt angle with respect to each of the multiple recording layers. The tilt angle with respect to each of the multiple recording layers is controlled in accordance with the information about the optimal tilt angle with respect to each of the multiple recording layers.

    摘要: In a phase synchronizing apparatus and a phase synchronizing method, a plurality of sine-wave signals synchronizing with the rotation of a discoid recording medium and having phases different from each other are generated, amplitudes of the plurality of sine waveforms are successively corrected in accordance with the output of phase comparator, and thereafter the correction results are supplied to a closed loop composed of phase comparison means and clock signal generator. Thereby, even if a phase fluctuation occurs in a time reference signal due to the eccentricity of a discoid recording medium, it is possible to correct a phase error generated in the output of the phase comparator correspondingly to the phase fluctuation and thus, realize a phase synchronizing apparatus and a phase synchronizing method capable of outputting a clock signal accurately following the eccentricity of a discoid recording medium.
