A roadway guardrail system including a rail, a plurality of support posts, and a plurality of fasteners assembly to redirect an impacting vehicle and dissipate a portion of the impacting vehicle's energy. A plurality of support posts each includes a slot extending along its length aligning with apertures in the rail and engaging with the rail through the apertures with fasteners including reinforcing members slidable along the slots in the posts. Alternatively, the rail has a plurality of laterally extending slots aligning with apertures in support posts and engaging with the support posts through the apertures with fasteners including reinforcing members slidable along the slots.

A roadway guardrail system including a rail and plurality of support posts assembled such that upon impact from a vehicle the rail moves upwardly with respect to the post. Fasteners may be used in the operative coupling of the rail to the support posts, such that upon impact the fasteners move upwardly with respect to the support posts and the rail moves upwardly along with the fasteners. The guardrail system may further include a reinforcing member that is slidable along the post and operatively coupled to the rail with the fasteners, such that the rail and fasteners slide along with the reinforcing member with respect to the support posts. The reinforcing member may be a spacer of various shapes, a washer, an additional rail section, or other type of member that allows the rail to slide upwardly with respect to the post.

Abstract:
A high solids, water-borne coating comprises a latex polymer, non-film-forming particulates and water. The high solids coating contains up to 90% solids (non-volatiles/volume) and pigment volume concentration (PVC) that can range between about 5% to 95%. The thick-coverage surface coating herein dries at a fast rate, provides excellent through-dry properties as measured by tensile, elongation, and water resistance, and can replace traditional coatings used in multi-coat processes. The coating herein can contain up to about 40% hollow microspheres to yield a dried coating that has up to about 57% PVC and be used as a roof coating that meets a required elongation of at least 200%.
Abstract:
A breakaway safety sign support post for obtaining predictable and reliable separation of an upper post section from a lower post section anchored in a substrate, when the post is struck by a vehicle. In a specific construction, the lower post section is adapted to be imbedded in the ground, with an upper end projecting a predetermined limited distance above the surface of the ground. The upper, post section is secured in overlapping, parallel relationship with the lower post section and is secured thereto with frangible fasteners to define a breakaway joint. The post sections each have a U-shaped transverse cross-sectional shape, including a longitudinal center web with a plurality of holes spaced uniformly along its length, and outwardly divergent side walls at opposite sides of the web, terminating in laterally outwardly projecting flanges. When nested together in overlapping relationship, the outwardly divergent side walls lie in surface-to-surface contact with one another and the webs are in spaced apart relationship. In accordance with the invention, an elongate spacer bar is engaged between the spaced apart webs and is secured to the post sections by the fasteners extended therethrough. In particular, the spacer bar has threaded openings at its opposite ends and the fasteners are threaded bolts engaged through the spacer bar. The spacer bar extends substantially completely along the overlapped end portions of the upper and lower post sections, stiffening the splice and providing adequate strength to absorb ambient wind loads, and at the same time providing a predictable and reliable breakaway joint when an errant vehicle collides with the sign post. The threaded spacer bar also insures that the fasteners are in properly spaced relationship to one another, and facilitates the ease of installation, whereby one person can install the breakaway sign support post of the invention.

Also disclosed is a cable guardrail system including a plurality of posts, a plurality of hangers attached to at least a portion of the plurality of posts, and at least two cables supported by the seats on opposite sides of the post. The cable guardrail system may redirect an impacting vehicle and dissipate a portion of the impacting vehicle's energy.

Each rod may include a plurality of axially extending steel rods supported transverse to the plurality of posts connected in a substantially end to end relationship. The steel rods may be connected using a coupler, and may be welded. The steel rods may be rebar.
