摘要: A lifting arrangement for overhead traveling cranes. The lifting arrangement includes two single reeved drums that are reeved together to provide true vertical lift of a load. The lifting arrangement allows for equalization of full up and full down rope fleet angles through utilization of axially staggered dual drums and/or a bottom block with two separate sheave nests. The lifting arrangement may utilize commercially available components to reduce the overall cost of the crane when compared with other powerhouse crane designs.

摘要: A single axis multi-speed planetary transmission of the epicyclic type is provided in which a single rotating housing encloses and carries three epicyclic gear sets. Hollow end portions of the rotating housing are carried on a stationary housing by bearings and quill shafts extend from the end portions and are connected to brakes carried on the stationary housing. Two fluid operated clutches are provided within the rotating housing to selectively interconnect certain of the components of the epicyclic gear sets and together with the two brakes provide controls to effect one reverse and five forward speeds. The output shaft is a quill shaft and the input shaft extends through the transmission, and through the output shaft, to provide a power takeoff shaft at the output end of the transmission.

摘要: A clamping mechanism for releaseably securing the end of a rope to a winch drum. The winch drum includes first and second walls that are spaced apart in facing relation to each other to define therebetween a rope end receiving space having open front and rear ends. One of the walls in the space is contactable by the rope end that is to be secured to said winch drum. A clamping wedge member has an axis, a drum side contactable with the other of the winch drum walls, a rope side contactable with the rope end, and a drive end to which a first axial force can be applied. Application of the first axial force moves the wedge member axially into the space and causes a first lateral clamping force be applied, initially clamping the rope end against the one wall. A transverse thrust device is mounted on the drum for applying a transverse force against the drum side of the wedge member transversely of the wedge axis to cause a second lateral clamping force to be exerted against the rope end.

摘要: The invention relates to a hoist apparatus including at least one of a three-part double reeved bottom block that has the same height profile as a two-part bottom block and the same lifting capacity as a three-part bottom block that includes an integral equalizer sheave nest, a device for limiting the rotation of a hoist drum beyond a desired position, a hybrid gear box adapted for use on two different categories and/or types of hoist apparatuses through the use of an adapter plate that permits coupling of the gearbox to the hoist drum of the hoist apparatus in a plurality of configurations and an external ring gear that results in a second output torque and speed of the gearbox, a self-lubricating load braking assembly having lubrication inlet holes and lubrication outlet holes for pumping lubrication into and out of the load brake assembly, a gearbox for use on the hoist apparatus including a two-stage high gear ratio gear set and a load brake assembly, a controller configured to acquire operational data representative of the hoist apparatus and generate an output indicative of a remaining useful life of the hoist apparatus, and an inverter controller configured to control verify load integrity and prevent possible load loss without the use of a load brake assembly and/or an encoder or similar feedback device.

摘要: The invention involves a hoist for raising and lower loads. The hoist includes a drive motor, gearing, a load brake and a cable-winding drum. The drum has an end with a splined annular member slidably engaging a similar splined annular member of a drum-concentric friction plate. The friction plate directly drives the drum during load raising and directly brakes the drum during load lowering. Because of the direct mechanical coupling between the drum and the friction plate, a failure in the gearing does not impair the ability of the friction plate to brake the load. Further details of the invention are set forth in the specification.
