    摘要: Provided are: an illumination device having a configuration in which a temperature rise of a radiation member is suppressed in a limited volume to thereby maintain a temperature of an LED at a predetermined value or less and an image reading device provided with the illumination device. In order to release heat generated by the LED from a substrate on which the LED is mounted, a first heat radiation plate (43) and a second heat radiation plate (47) are provided on both sides of the LED-mounted substrate; the second heat radiation plate (47), the LED-mounted substrate, and the first heat radiation plate (43) are installed in this order on a second frame (40) that supports the LED-mounted substrate, first and second heat radiation plates (43) and (47); a fan is disposed on the first heat radiation plate (43) side; when viewing the second frame (40) in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction thereof, a cross-sectional profile of the second heat radiation plate (47) has an area protruding with respect to a cross-sectional profile of the first heat radiation plate (43); and the configuration is such that wind from the fan is aggressively blown against the first and second heat radiation plates (43) and (47).

    摘要: A sheet conveying device includes a conveying path along which a sheet is conveyed. First and second conveying roller pairs are arranged on the conveying path at a predetermined distance from each other. Overlapping conveyance sensing devices are located between the first and second conveying roller pairs and include opposing transmission device and reception device. A distance between the first and second conveying roller pairs is shorter than a length of a minimum size sheet in a conveying direction. In the conveying path between the conveying roller pairs, guide members are disposed to sandwich the transmission device and reception device. The guide members are configured to project upward or downward from a sheet conveying line by a predetermined amount with respect to the conveying path, the sheet conveying line extending through nip points of the first and second conveying roller pairs.

    摘要: An image reading apparatus includes a reading unit having contact glass through which an image is read from a document, backup glass located opposite the contact glass of the reading unit so as to form a conveying path between the backup glass and the contact glass through which the document is passed, a white member located on a rear surface side of the backup glass which is different from a contact glass side of the backup glass, a support plate that allows the white member to pivot between a position where the white member stands opposite the contact glass via the backup glass and a retract position where the white member is retracted from the position where the white member stands opposite the contact glass, and a regulating member provided between the backup glass and the white member so as to create a specified gap between the white member and the rear surface of the transparent member. Thus, a fixed distance is always maintained between the movable white member, located opposite the reading position, and the document reading surface. As a result, accurate shading correction data is acquired.

    摘要: An interference waveform dispersion spectrum of light reflected from a multi-layer film is compared to a waveform obtained by numerical calculation using an optical characteristic matrix. Respective layer thickness values obtained from the calculated analysis of the Spatial interference waveform are subjected to waveform fitting with actually measured values. The theoretical interference spectrum is recalculated while changing approximate values of the layer thicknesses until a match is obtained to obtain precise respective layer thicknesses. The thicknesses of respective layers of a thin multi-layer film of submicron thicknesses can be non-destructively measured exactly and stably without direct contact.
