Abstract: An assembly is disclosed for forming a raised roof edge on a building structure that preferably has a generally horizontal roof and a generally vertical outer face. The assembly includes a dam member for forming a water dam or gravel stop, a fascia member, and a separate spring clip member interposed therebetween for resiliently biasing the fascia member into a relatively tight and rattle-free interlocking installation on the dam member. Preferably, a roofing material is interposed between the spring clip member and the dam member and is frictionally secured and anchored therebetween as a result of the resilient biasing forces of the resilient spring clip member. The roof edge assembly thereby provides an improved water dam or gravel stop structure that securely retains the roofing material on the roof of the building structure.

Abstract: An assembly is disclosed for forming a raised roof edge on a building structure that preferably has a generally horizontal roof and a geneally vertical outer face. The assembly includes a dam member for forming a water dam or gravel stop and a fascia member. Preferably, the dam member is a one-piece structure, including a clamping and retention portion and a vertical intermediate portion, and biases and secures the fascia member into a relatively tight and rattle-free interlocking installation on the dam member. Preferably, a roofing material is gripped and held against the dam member as a result of the biasing forces of the clamping and retention portion and the intermediate dam portion. The roof edge assembly thereby provides an improved water dam or gravel stop structure that securely retains the roofing material on the roof of the building structure without penetrating the roofing material, at least along the roof surface. Also, because the roof edge assembly is adapted for installation on roof structures employing roofing pavers or other such roof-covering devices, and preferably anchors and retains the roofing pavers, the roof edge assembly of the present invention features increased stability and resistance to uplift forces in comparison to more conventional roof edge assemblies.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable media for adjusting the orientation of an image frame and a scene depicted in the image frame are described. In general, techniques are disclosed for analyzing an image with one or more feature detectors to identify features in the image. An alignment or position associated with one or more features identified in the image may be used to determine a proper orientation for the image frame. The image can then be rotated to the proper orientation. It may also be determined if a scene depicted in the image is properly aligned in the rotated image orientation. If not, alignment information associated with the identified features may be utilized to straighten the depicted scene.

Abstract: A system and method for changing data displayed on a touch-sensitive display screen. The present system and method recognize handwritten strokes made with a stylus on the touch-sensitive display screen of a PDA or palmtop computer in order to alter or correct displayed data. In one mode of operation, computer controlled association of the location of the handwritten strokes on the display screen with one or more of the displayed characters will result in automatic replacement of those characters by the handwritten strokes. In a second mode of operation, matching at least one of the handwritten strokes with one character of the displayed data will result in replacement of one or more characters of the displayed data with the handwritten characters. With the present system and method, the number of steps required to alter displayed data is reduced to the number of handwritten strokes. A significant reduction in time and effort as well as simplification in application is therefore offered.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for the preemptive determination of the potential of atypical clinical event occurrence related to administering of medications to a person. One method involves receiving a list of possible medications that may be administered to the person during a medical procedure. Subsequently, the medication list is compared to information in the person's medical record. Based on this comparison, a determination is made as to whether one or more matches exist between any of the medications included in the list and the medical record information, the match relating to the potential of an atypical clinical event occurring if the associated medication were to be administered to the person. If a match in fact exists, a response is outputted relating to each match.
