Abstract:
A rectangular baler having a bale-forming chamber, a piston that is reciprocatable in the bale-forming chamber for compressing biomass to form bales. The dimensions of part of the interior of the bale-forming chamber are adjustable under the influence of at least one actuator the energization of which is controllable. A controller for controlling the energization of the at least one actuator is adapted for generating a least a first control signal in accordance with a target pressure mode of the baler, a second control signal in accordance with a target force mode of the baler, and a third control signal in accordance with a target weight mode of the baler.
Abstract:
The feeder of a combine has at least one rotatable cam and hook, rotatable about a common axis. The cam is arranged to gradually reduce the distance between the feeder and the header by rotating the cam away from the header and the hook is arranged to grip a bar located on the header as the cam is being rotated away from the header, thereby securing the header to the feeder. A coupling mechanism automatically establishes a hydraulic and/or electric coupling between the feeder and the header, through the reduction of the distance between feeder and header.
Abstract:
A pick-up assembly for an agricultural machine having a pick-up drum rotatably mounted in a frame; a windguard mounted at a free end of two lateral support arms, the two lateral support arms pivotably mounted at their other end to the frame; a crossbar having tines mounted at one end to the crossbar, the crossbar pivotably mounted to the support arms for allowing a range of free movement of the free extremities of the tines between an upper limit and a lower limit wherein two elongate flexible tension elements are connected at one end eccentrically to the crossbar and at their other end to the frame.
Abstract:
An ejector system for a bale-forming chamber comprises a shuttle assembly having protrusions. This shuttle assembly is able to reciprocate to propel at least two bales towards a discharge outlet. The system furthermore comprises a tilting mechanism for tilting the shuttle assembly to retract a subset of the protrusions from an extended position projecting into the bale-forming chamber to a retracted position disposed outside the bale-forming chamber, thus, during movement of the shuttle assembly towards the discharge outlet, propelling only the bale present in the bale-forming chamber closest to the discharge outlet.
Abstract:
A square baler comprising a controller for controlling the operation of the baler in dependence on the first, second and third signals representing the mass of a bale, the force of the piston of the baler, the energization of the actuator respectively and an input target value for the mass of the bale wherein the first signal is fed back in a first control loop and compared with the target weight to generate a target force, the second signal is fed in a second control loop and compared with the target force to generate a target energization, the third signal is fed in a third control loop and compared with the target energization to control the energization of the actuator.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an agricultural machine such as a combine harvester. The machine comprises a feeder (1) such as a straw elevator, and a detachable header (2). The feeder comprises at least one rotatable cam (15) and a hook (16), rotatable about a common axis (14). The cam is arranged to gradually reduce the distance between the feeder and the header by rotating the cam (15) away from the header and the hook is arranged to grip a bar or pin (18) located on the header as the cam is being rotated away from the header, thereby securing the header to the feeder. An agricultural machine according to the invention further is equipped with a coupling mechanism (20) for automatically establishing a hydraulic and/or electric coupling between the feeder and the header, the coupling being actuated through the reduction of the distance between feeder and header. The invention is equally related to a method for automatically establishing a hydraulic and/or electric coupling between the feeder and the header of a combine harvesting machine.
