Abstract:
A radio frequency identification (“RFID”) method, computer-readable medium, apparatus, and system are provided. In one embodiment, the method acquires dimensions of an item. The dimensions and speed of the item are used to determine the item's location on a conveyor (i.e., to track the item on the conveyor). The location of the item is used to determine which switch RFID reader antenna in a plurality of RFID reader antennas is the most suitable RFID reader antenna to communicate with a transponder located on the item. In other embodiments, the apparatus, system, and computer-readable medium are also provided which perform similar features recited by the above method.
Abstract:
A method for confirming information using multiple information gathering subsystems is provided. In one embodiment, the method attempts to gather primary information using a first information gathering subsystem. The method also attempts to gather secondary information using a second information gathering subsystem. Thereafter, the method compares the primary information when gathered by the first information gathering subsystem with the secondary information when gathered by the secondary information gathering subsystem. In various embodiments, information gathered from one information gathering subsystem can be used to derive information not retrieved (due to a failed gathering attempt) from the other information gathering subsystem. In still other embodiments, a third information gathering subsystem can be used to gather tertiary information. The tertiary information can be used when needed to confirm or derive primary or secondary information. In yet other embodiments, a computer-readable medium, an apparatus, a processor, and system are also provided which perform similar features recited by the above method.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for enabling and managing application input/output activity in memory to restore a data store using one or more processors is disclosed. In one embodiments, the method includes processing a restoration request for a data store, wherein the data store is mirrored by another data store, controlling communication of application input/output activity associated with at least one host computer and directed to at least one of the data store or the other data store, restoring various portions of the data store, in accordance with the restoration request, using at least one of at least one prior point in time image or the other data store and servicing the application input/output activity using the data store.
Abstract:
A radio frequency identification (“RFID”) method, computer-readable medium, apparatus, and system are provided. In one embodiment, the method uses at least one light sensor to detect an item and to provide peripheral information of the item. Thereafter, the method determines the item's location, on a conveyor, from the peripheral information and a speed of the conveyor; and switches to an RFID reader antenna in a plurality of RFID reader antennas in accordance with the item location. In other embodiments, the apparatus, system, and computer-readable medium are also provided which perform similar features recited by the above method.
Abstract:
The present invention describes a method of using 1.1 solid rocket propellant in the detonation process for explosives. The use of the 1.1 solid rocket propellant is described as a booster for use in a blasting cap.
Abstract:
The invention involves a striking board for use in developing one's skill in the martial arts and comprises in its basic aspects in superimposed relation, a relatively flexible cushion member for striking with one's hand, supported by a relatively inflexible member, which in turn is supported by a relatively inflexible spacing member and a further relatively inflexible member, the latter member being of such a construction that the striking board can be held by hand or supported by a bracket support on a wall or other support surface. The bracket support supports the striking board of the invention by compression springs so as to offer suitable resistance to a striking blow. The striking board can be removed from the bracket support, if desired, and hand held by a training partner. The striking board is covered with leather or leather-like plastic coated fabric so as to present a pleasing appearance to the striking board, and less abrasiveness to one's hand in use.
Abstract:
An input signal, whose frequency is to be detected, is divided and sent i two arms. One arm applies a set phase and amplitude adjustment while the other arm has a phase response that is dependent upon the frequency. Both arms are fed to a phase detector whose output is used to indicate the frequency of the input.

Abstract:
A phase shift control voltage distribution scheme for a phased array utilizing voltage-proportional phase shift devices employs a digital-to-analog converter that supplies respectively different analog voltages to a sample-and-hold switch network coupled to analog voltage control inputs of the plurality of voltage-proportional phase shift devices. In order to impart a phase shift control voltage to one or more phase shift elements of the array, a control unit supplies a prescribed combination of a digital control code to the digital-to-analog converter and a switch control code to sample-and-hold switches of the switch network.
Abstract:
A phase shift control voltage distribution scheme for a phased array utilizes analog voltage-proportional phase shift devices, to which respective input signals are supplied and from which phase-shifted output signals are produced. A voltage supply unit has a plurality of voltage outputs supplying respectively different analog voltages. A switch network coupled between voltage outputs of the multiple voltage supply unit and the voltage control inputs of the plurality of voltage-controlled phase shift elements, is operative to selectively couple any of the different voltages supplied by the multiple voltage supply unit to the voltage control inputs of any of the voltage-controlled phase shift elements.
