摘要:
A cabinet (10) that provides full access to equipment (12) mounted therein broadly comprises a housing (13) for housing the equipment (12), an access door (24) for selectively protecting the equipment (12), a rack (40) for supporting the equipment (12), and a frame (60) for rotatably and slidably supporting the rack (40). The rack (40) preferably includes two vertical members (42,44) spaced apart such that the equipment (12) mounts between the vertical members (42,44), and top and bottom crossbars (46,48) rigidly separating the vertical members (42,44). The frame (60) preferably includes a substantially vertical support (66) presenting a substantially horizontal flange (70), and a substantially horizontal shelf (68) extending from the vertical support (66) below the rack (40). The rack (40) is rotatably secured to the frame (60) through vertical axles (72,74) and rigidly fixed by a locking mechanism (80) for selectively preventing rotation of the rack (40).
摘要:
A cable interface (10) operable to interface a cable trunk line with an electronic equipment enclosure (12) via a pendant cable (14), thereby providing for quick and convenient connection and disconnection, when desired, of the equipment enclosure (12) from the pendant cable (14). The equipment enclosure (12) may house a variety of electronic equipment, such as, for example, telecommunications, signaling, and similar electronic equipment, including, for example, repeater and doubler cards. The preferred cable interface (10) broadly comprises a first connector half (16); a mounting plate (18); a second connector half (20); a free-spinning nut (22); a security cover (24); and a flexible cable extension (26). The security cover (24) cooperates with the second connector half (20) to restrict unauthorized access to the connection.

摘要:
A telecommunications cable section (12) for connection with telecommunications or signaling equipment or other outside plant equipment, wherein the cable section (12) comprises a plurality of conductors (30) surrounded by an intermediate layer of corrugated material (32). A flexible braided or mesh protective sheathing (34) substantially surrounds the intermediate layer (32). The braided sheathing (34) is preferably a braided or mesh sock or tubular sleeve or sleeve of copper or other metal or material. An exterior layer of substantially moisture-proof shrinkable tubing (36) substantially surrounds the braided sheathing (34).

A modular electronic equipment enclosure (10) for housing telecommunications, signaling, or other electronic equipment. The enclosure (10) separates into modules for easier module-by-module installation. The preferred enclosure (10) broadly comprises three separable modules, including a housing module (12); a mounting structure (14); and a cable interface module (16). The housing module (12) receives, retains, and protectively encloses the electronic equipment. The mounting structure (14) is operable to secure to a mounting surface and to provide the housing module (12) with an operating orientation which is either perpendicular or parallel to the mounting surface. The interface block (16) is coupled with the housing module (12) in any of two or more possible orientations. The interface block (16) including a first wire connector half (94) operable to couple with a corresponding second wire connector half (38) connected to the electronic equipment.

An electronic equipment enclosure (10) for housing electronic equipment (11), and broadly comprising a pivot bracket (22); a plurality of sleeves (24), each being associated with a transmit terminal (26), a receive terminal (28), protective circuitry (30), and test circuitry (32); a spreader plate (38); and a heat sink (40). The pivot bracket (22) allows for tilting an outer housing (12) up to 30° relative to a mounting surface. The separate and distinct transmit and receive terminals (26,28) maintain minimum cross-talk and interference levels. The protective and the test circuitries (30,32) are located on daughter boards adjacent each sleeve (24) so as to be easily accessible. The spreader plate (38) is operable to force the sleeves (24) into direct contact with the interior surface of the outer housing (18). The heat sink (40) is operable to facilitate conductive heat transfer between the sleeves (24) and the lid (18).

A telecommunications equipment mounting assembly is provided including a plate (12) presenting a plurality of separate, spaced apart mounting zones (24), together with generally U-shaped brackets (14) respectively secured to the plate (12) adjacent corresponding zones (24). A telecommunications equipment enclosure (16) is secured to each pair of bracket legs whereby the enclosures (16) are spaced from the plate (12). Preferably, the brackets are oriented at an oblique angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the plate (12) to facilitate cabling and interconnection of the electrical equipment within the enclosures (16). In alternate forms, a standoff leg assembly (56) is employed to secure the mounting plates (12) and associated hardware to an upright wall (62). This creates a cableway (80) between the plates (12) and the wall (62).
