    摘要: A system and method are provided for remotely actuating a subunit disconnect in a motor control center subunit. A motor control center subunit includes a subunit housing configured to fit within a motor control center and a subunit disconnect configured to selectively control a supply power to motor control components of the subunit housing. A control mechanism is attached to the subunit housing to activate and deactivate the subunit disconnect and a remote control device communicates with the control mechanism and is configured to operate the control mechanism to activate and deactivate the subunit disconnect.

    摘要: A radio frequency identification (RFID) system includes a tag reader configured to interrogate RFID tags in repeated transmission pulses, and a monitor module configured to monitor a transmission pulse rate of the RFID. When a pulse rate falling within a selected frequency range is detected, the monitor module is configured to modify the pulse rate to produce a transmission pulse rate that falls outside of the selected frequency range. Modification may include, for example, any of shortening an off-period between transmission pulses, shortening the transmission pulses, and introducing single electromagnetic spikes between transmission pulses. The monitor module may also be configured to interrupt operation of the system upon detection of a pulse rate falling within the selected frequency range, or to produce a signal indicating a detected pulse rate falling within the selected frequency range. The system may include a plurality of tag readers configured to interrogate RFID tags sequentially.

    摘要: Transformers (14) inject test voltage signals of know frequency to each phase of the load side of an electrical distribution circuit (15). Processor (32) waits for a delay period to allow transient effects of the injected signals to settle, and then accepts the sampled test current signals provided by current transformers (12) through conditioning circuit (16). This process is repeated by injecting test voltages at different frequencies, which are selected by processor (32) based on stored instructions. Processor (32) uses the sampled signals to determine a representative current for the load side of the distribution circuit (15) and then compares the representative current with a predetermined current threshold value stored in non-volatile memory (40). If the current is above this threshold, processor (32) provides a lockout signal to the fault lockout device (48) and fault lockout flag (50). Upon receiving this lockout signal, fault lockout device (48) prevents the closure of the breaker contacts (17), and fault lockout flag (50) provides for remote indication of breaker lockout. If the current is below the threshold value, fault lockout device (48) is not activated, and the circuit breaker contacts (17) are allowed to close.

    摘要: An electro-nerve stimulator system includes a pulse generator for generating current pulses with a transcutaneous patch and percutaneous needle for delivering current pulses to selected stimulation sites. The stimulator is a small battery operated external device that allows adjustment of stimulation levels and interfaces, via a connector, to the trans-percutaneous cable. The transcutaneous electrode is attached to the skin distal from the desired stimulated nerve site. A percutaneous needle is inserted close to the internal nerve site. Stimulation current pulses are designed to flow between the transcutaneous electrode and the internal percutaneous needle. The field generated at the needle site causes the nerve to fire.

    摘要: A metabolic demand rate-responsive cardiac stimulation apparatus and method are disclosed which employ multiple physiological rate control parameters, such as respiratory minute volume, patient motion and cardiac stroke volume. The parameters are derived using a single standard pacing lead or transducer. The apparatus and method perform each physiological measurement by periodically applying a measuring current between two points within the apparatus. This measuring current has frequency components in a range of from approximately 10 kilohertz to 1000 megahertz. Application of this measuring current allows the apparatus to detect the voltage which arises from the applied current and, from the detected voltage, to measure the patient's spatial impedance. For a particular measurement, the apparatus controls which physiological parameter is sensed by regulating the frequency content of the measuring current. The apparatus analyzes the physiological parameters to determine the best pacing rate in terms of characteristics such as response time and stability.
