摘要： A flow controller includes a housing having central portion and finger-gripping portions on either side of the central portion. The housing defines an interior flow path and includes a breakable member at least partially positioned within the interior flow path of the housing to prevent the passage of fluid through the flow path. The breakable member includes a stem integrally molded to a tubular member. The finger-gripping portions and the central portion define an outermost surface and the outermost surface of the finger gripping portions extends radially outwardly of the outermost surface of the central portion. The central portion includes a wall having a selected thickness.

摘要： An umbilicus is provided for use in an umbilicus-driven fluid processing system. The umbilicus has a pair of anchor portions, at least one fluid-transmitting lumen, and a drive shaft. The fluid-transmitting lumen and drive shaft extend between the anchor portions. The lumen and drive shaft may be comprised of different materials. If multiple lumen are provided, they may either be separate from each other and the drive shaft or defined in a single umbilicus body which also provides a lumen for receiving at least a portion of the drive shaft.

摘要： A one-piece bearing is provided for use with a fluid processing assembly of the type having an umbilicus, a bearing support, a gimbal received within the bearing support, and a liner at least partially received within the gimbal. The bearing is secured to a midsection of the umbilicus and adapted to be at least partially received within the liner. An inner surface of the bearing engages the umbilicus while an outer surface of the bearing engages at least a portion of the liner for rotation relative to the liner.

An example tab for use with a medical container includes opposing sheets sealed to define an open ended chamber into which a port is to be at least partially positioned. The port is to enable access to the medical container. The tab includes a tear seal defined by each of the opposing sheets and a first guide positioned on a first side of each of the tear seals. The tab includes a second guide positioned on a second side of each of the tear seals, wherein the first and second guides are to enable a tear to propagate substantially between the guides and adjacent the tear seals.

An example cart assembly for use with blood filtration includes a base including a recessed portion to receive one or more containers defining compartments each to receive a container of a fluid transfer system. Additionally, the base includes a plurality of transport members coupled to respective portions of the base. A plane on which a surface of the recessed portion lies is below a portion of each of the plurality of transport members. Additionally, the cart assembly includes a hanger assembly comprising a plurality of suspension members from which another container of the fluid transfer system is to be suspended and a pole to couple the base to the hanger assembly.

摘要： Medical needle assemblies incorporating a needle cover are provided. According to one aspect, a medical needle assembly includes a hub portion and a pair of outwardly extending wings. The hub portion may have a raised orientation member, with the wings being foldable to overlay the raised orientation member and contact the raised orientation member and each other. Alternatively, the hub portion may have an anti-rotation member adapted to cooperate with the wings to limit rotation of the wings with respect to the hub portion.
