    Abstract: A gearbox system includes a gearbox having integrated therein a pump system, a plurality of fluid passages and a clutch control system. The pump system is in fluid communication with the clutch control system via the fluid passages to flow at least one pressurized stream. A first pressurized stream controls a first pressure-responsive device included in the clutch control system. The gearbox system further includes a hydro-mechanical control unit (HMCU) in fluid communication with the gearbox to receive a second pressurized stream and to generate at least one actuator control stream. The actuator control stream controls an actuator integrated in the gearbox.

    Abstract: A hydraulic clutch assembly includes a plurality of frictional clutch discs moveable between an engaged condition and a disengaged condition, wherein the engaged condition provides a transfer of rotational energy. Also included is a first toroidal hydraulic chamber configured to depress the plurality of frictional clutch discs into the engaged condition. Further included is a second toroidal hydraulic chamber opposing the first toroidal hydraulic chamber, wherein the second toroidal hydraulic chamber is configured to balance centrifugal expansion forces of the first toroidal hydraulic chamber. Yet further included is a lubrication circuit for supplying a hydraulic fluid from a fluid reservoir to the second toroidal hydraulic chamber and the plurality of frictional clutch discs, wherein the second toroidal hydraulic chamber is substantially filled prior to delivery of the hydraulic fluid to the plurality of frictional clutch discs.

    Abstract: A motorcycle in which the rider is comfortably seated in an adjustable support for his torso and feet, and in which the envelope of the motorcycle can be kept to a minimum so the rider can ride in an optimally comfortable position. A footrest and a seat are provided so the feet of the rider are axially forward of the rider's knees, as viewed in plan, and either the footrest or seat or both is adjustably movable so the axial distance between them can adjustably be varied. An engine on the frame can be mounted with its crankcase beneath the seat, and with its cylinders extending forwardly at an angle above the horizontal no greater than about 45.degree., beneath the thighs of the rider.
