    摘要: The rotary bag making machine of the present invention is adapted to make side seal bags having a plastic drawstring through a hem in the top of the bag. More specifically. The rotary bag machine of the present invention includes a two part, elongate sealing bar having sealing edges, the first part of which is heated to a first temperature for sealing two layers of plastic bag material and the second part of which is heated to a second higher temperature for sealing the six layers which are present when hems are formed with inserted drawstrings. The second part of the seal bar is not only designed to form the seal but to heat weld together the drawstring plastic so that it will not separate or tear apart when the bag is gathered and subsequently tied with the drawstring.

    摘要: A winder for making coreless rolls of pliable sheet material, such as plastic, cloth or paper, includes a cut-off section for severing a continuous strip of feed material to the desired length and a conveyor system downstream thereof. A portion of the conveyor is pivotable between a first and second position to feed spaced-apart winding rod assemblies. The rod assemblies each include a pair of elongate, spaced-apart rods and a mechanism for rotating the pair of rods to wrap the feed material into a coreless roll. The rod assemblies also include a system for collapsing one of the two rods toward the other when the winding of the roll is completed and it is desired to dispense the coreless roll. A finger mechanism is also provided for properly orienting the pair of rods to receive the leading end of the pliable material. By employing multiple winding assemblies and the pivotable conveyor system, the speed of the winder can be substantially increased. The present invention is especially suitable for the winding of rolls of dropcloth or other cover-sheet materials.

    摘要: This invention pertains to draw tape equipment, and methods for incorporating draw tapes into plastic and like bags. In general, a continuous plastic web is slit at a slitting station to form layers, and respective free edges. The web then passes to a hole forming station where holes are punched in the top and bottom layers adjacent the free edges. After the holes are punched, edge regions of the top and bottom layers are separated from each other, followed by forming of hems in the separated layers at hem forming stations arranged in parallel with each other. Concurrent with forming of the hems, continuous draw tapes are fed to the hem forming stations and the hems are formed about the draw tapes. The formed hems, with the draw tapes incorporated therein, optionally pass through first temperature control stations where the temperature of the plastic web is controlled to a desired temperature before hem sealing. The formed hems are then sealed to the main bodies of the respective top and bottom layers. Narrow pressure wheels apply pressure to the hot seals to improve seal quality. The sealed hems optionally pass through second temperature control stations to cool the web. The edge regions of the layers are then rejoined, in face-to-face relationship with each other.

At least one deflector and/or at least one source of air, such as a nozzle, is moved to the path of the film downstream from the spindle, and an airhorn is moved to the spindle. The leading edge of the strip is directed into the airhorn by the deflector and/or air from the nozzle, and then directed by air within the airhorn into its own nip. Finally, the strip is wound about the spindle.
