摘要： An image display apparatus includes a display panel having an electron source, an acceleration electrode for accelerating electrons emitted from the electron source and phosphors for emitting light by collision of electrons accelerated by the acceleration electrode, and a detector for detecting a current flowing through the acceleration electrode during a non-display period. In addition, a controller is provided to decrease the luminance level, stop display driving or transmit warning information when the current detected becomes more than a predetermined value.

摘要： An image display apparatus includes an image processing circuit configured to generate an image signal based on input image data such that the image signal includes a main-image frame and a sub-image frame with luminance lower than that of the main-image frame. The image processing circuit includes a conversion circuit and a memory control circuit. The conversion circuit converts frame synchronization signals of respective frames such that the main-image frame has a longer horizontal scanning period than the sub-image frame. The memory control circuit switches, in a period in which the unconverted synchronization signal and the converted synchronization signal are both in a vertical blanking period, operation modes of two frame memories between writing and reading. The image display apparatus is capable of suppressing a visible disturbance in image quality and a reduction in the total image luminance of a moving image without increasing a frame memory transfer rate.

The image signal processing unit divides a luminance level of an image signal into plural areas in the signal amplitude direction in response to each split timing signal. There are provided means for detecting frequencies of luminance signals included in the respective amplitude areas, a correction quantity calculating unit for outputting correction signals based on the detected values, and an adding unit for adding the correction signals and luminance signals, which outputs results of addition as electron emission requirements to the column wiring driving unit.
