Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a method for treating defects of articular cartilage or meniscus of a patient using in vivo chondrogenesis of synovium-derived MSCs. The present invention provides a method for treating a disease associated with defects of cartilage or meniscus. In the present invention, the method for treating a disease associated with defects of cartilage or meniscus comprises the following steps: culturing ex vivo autologous synovium-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs); implanting the MSCs such that said cartilage defect site or meniscal defect site is covered by the MSCs; and regenerating cartilage tissue at the cartilage defect site or meniscal defect site in situ by differentiating the MSCs into cartilage cells.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, HLA matching donor-originating activated lymphocytes highly effective in the treatment of patients with tumors, viral infections and autoimmune diseases are prepared by collecting cells contained in peripheral blood originating from an HLA matching donor or peripheral blood originating from an HLA matching donor achieving micro-chimerism and by stimulating and propagating the cells thus collected with, for instance, interleukin 2 and anti-CD3 antibodies or the like. The HLA matching donor-originating activated lymphocytes thus prepared can be administered to an HLA matching patient with a tumor, a viral infection or an autoimmune disease for therapeutic or preventive purposes.

Abstract:
Activated lymphocytes derived from cord blood are excellently effective for preventing and treating various types of tumors and various types of infection. With interleukin 2 and/or anti-CD3 antibody, the lymphocytes derived from the cord blood is prepared by segregating lymphocytes from the cord blood and proliferating the segregated lymphocytes directly in vitro or segregating monocytes from cord blood and proliferating the monocytes in vitro. Also, the cord blood-derived activated lymphocytes can be effectively used for preventing recurrence of the diseases and promoting the take of stem cells or other organs.
Abstract:
A panel is provided with a substantially rectangular effective portion that has a substantially flat outer surface, and a phosphor screen is formed on the inner surface of the effective portion. A shadow mask that is opposed to the phosphor screen includes a substantially rectangular mask body formed having a large number of electron beam holes and a mask frame supporting the peripheral edge portion of the mask body. The interval between the electron beam holes in the direction of the major axis of the mask body increases from the center of the mask body toward the major axis end so that the rate of change of the interval has a maximum value in the region between the center of the mask body and the major axis end.
Abstract:
In a color cathode ray tube in which the external surface of an effective portion of a panel has a flat surface or a slight curvature, the shadow mask is set such that the layout distance between electron beam through hole array near the long side of an effective surface of the shadow mask is larger in the vicinity of the short axis than the layout distance at the center of the effective surface. Further, the layout distance becomes gradually smaller in direction away from the short axis, and thereafter, the layout distance changes to an increase. In the vicinity of the short side of the effective surface, the layout distance becomes equal to or larger than the layout distance near the short axis. Therefore, the curvature of the shadow mask and the electron beam through hole array are set in proper condition, and mislanding of beam landing due to deformation or oscillation of the shadow mask can be reduced. At the same time, howling of the phosphor screen can be minimized.

A color cathode ray tube having a reinforcing band, which constricts the outer periphery of a skirt portion of a vacuum envelope, arranged so as to fulfill a relation, b≧2.0a, where a is the distance between first and second planes along a tube axis, the first plane intersecting an end edge of the skirt portion and extending perpendicular to the tube axis, the second plane containing the central axis of stud pins supporting a shadow mask and extending perpendicular to the tube axis, and b is the distance between the first plane and a third plane along the tube axis, the third plane intersecting a side edge of the reinforcing band facing a vacuum envelope funnel.
Abstract:
A color cathode ray tube is provided with a shadow mask having a mask body including a substantially rectangular effective surface in which a large number of electron beam passage apertures are formed. A plurality of reinforcing beads are formed on the effective surface, and project therefrom to have heights which varies in accordance with positions such that in at least a part of an area for provision of the reinforcing beads, the heights of the reinforcing beads satisfy the following relationship: dx1>dx2, dy1>dy2 where dx1 is the height measured at a first position which is apart from a longer axis of the effective surface and a distance x1 apart from a shorter axis thereof, dx2 is the height measured at a second position which is further apart from the longer axis than the first position and a distance x2 apart from the shorter axis, dy1 is the height measured at a third position which is located on the shorter axis and a distance y1 apart from the longer axis, dy2 is the height measured at a fourth position which is a distance apart from the shorter axis and a distance y2 apart from the longer axis, and the distances x1, x2, y1 and y2 satisfy the following relationship: x1=x2=y1=y2.
Abstract:
A chamber for exerting an ultrasound beam on a sample solution containing particles to be concentrated, separated or arranged is provided with a view toward arbitrarily controlling the shape of a spatial distribution of potential energy created by the ultrasound beam and concentrating, separating or periodically arranging the particles. In contrast to the chamber, irradiation ultrasound sources for generating ultrasound beams are provided to create an ultrasonic intensity distribution for producing a position potential energy distribution used to exert a force forwarded in a predetermined direction or a force staying at a predetermined region to each particle. Thus, a specific spatial distribution of potential energy can be realized by ultrasound beams each having a specific intensity, a specific frequency and a specific phase or an ultrasound beam formed by superimposing these on one another. Further, at least one suction hole for recovering separated solvents or particles is defined in a wall surface of the tube, which is orthogonal to the flow of the sample solution.
