摘要: An application server includes an asynchronous event manager configured for selectively terminating an instance executing a messaging session, based on detecting a message from a gateway server that the incoming call is a call having a type that differs from the prescribed type intended for the messaging session. The asynchronous event manager terminates the instance by setting global variables accessible by the instance that specify that the call is rejected (i.e., the connection between the gateway and the instance executing the messaging session is terminated) due to the incoming call being of a different type than intended for that messaging session, for example the call being a fax call instead of a voice call. The instance executing the messaging session checks the global variables prior to committing to execution of critical operations that affect stored subscriber messaging data, for example before sending a recorded message for storage, or changing a state of a stored message from a new message to a stored message or deleted message. If the global variables indicate that the messaging session should be terminated, the instance rolls back the necessary data structures by deleting any necessary data (e.g., log entries, application state information, recorded messages, etc.), and terminates the instance.

摘要: An apparatus for measuring the strength of and for performing physical therapy exercises to strengthen a patient's limb. The device includes a pair of pivot clamps each having a end for connecting the pivot clamps to a solid object such as a physical therapy table or hospital bed. A second end of each pivot clamp adjustably receives a first frame member of a conventional traction or load frame. This arrangement enables rotational and translational movement of the first frame member retained by the pivot clamp relative to each pivot clamp to allow the frame to be positioned in a desired location and orientation relative to the patient's limb to be tested. A second frame member is adjustably connected to the pair of first frame members by a pair of adjustable brackets. A limb engaging member having a force transducer located therein is used to both engage the patient's limb to be tested and to detect a force transmitted between the limb of a patient and the limb engaging member. The force transducer produces an output which is representative of the force produced which may be displayed on a digital panel meter.

摘要: An executable process, configured for storing and retrieving data from a storage medium having a prescribed storage definition, is configured for converting an array having a prescribed data structure into a string having array descriptors that specify the prescribed data structure. The array descriptors are used to identify for each a element its corresponding element name and element value. The array descriptors also identify for each element its relative depth within the array, for example whether a given array element is a subelement of another array element. Hence, the array can be stored and recovered from the storage medium without modification of the prescribed storage definition and without loss of the data structure of the array.

摘要: Chromatic adjustments to the overall color balance of the image are presented on one screen and tonal adjustments (such as brightness or contrast) that do not affect the overall color balance are presented on another screen. The chromatic adjustments include at least three independent variables each of which can be separately increased or decreased, while the tonal adjustments include brightness and contrast that can be separately increased or decreased. Such a grouping concentrates the user's attention on only two or three adjustments related to a single readily identifiable deficiency in the original image, and thus not only facilitates image improvement but also makes it easier to selectively undo the effects of some adjustments but not others. Each adjustment is displayed as a pair of preview images which respectively show the effect of a one step increment or decrement of the associated variable. Each pair of preview images are clearly separated from all other images on the same screen and are displayed as two adjacent "buttons" either of which can be actuated by the user to effect the displayed result. The step size is adjustable by means of a single slider control that is effective for all the adjustments on that screen Each image adjustment screen includes thumbnail images corresponding to the original image and to the revised image. The thumbnail revised image is the largest image on the screen and is the focal point of attention for the user.
