An approach is provided for rendering categorized location-based results. The approach involves determining a distribution of one or more entities over a geographical area. The approach further involves receiving an input for specifying one or more categories of the one or more entities. The approach also involves processing and/or facilitating a processing of the distribution to generate one or more clusters of the one or more entities with respect to the one or more categories. The approach further involves determining one or more geographical locations associated with the one or more clusters, the one or more entities, or a combination thereof. The approach also involves causing, at least in part, rendering or one or more graphical presentations of the one or more geographical locations, the one or more entities, or a combination thereof based, at least in part, on the one or more clusters.

A washing appliance including a wash receptacle and a lid assembly for closing an open top of the wash receptacle. At least a peripheral portion of the lid assembly is movable toward and away from the open top of the wash receptacle between a sealed condition contacting contact portions of the periphery of the open top and an unsealed condition spaced away from the periphery of the open top. The lid assembly is generally rectangular and has front, rear and side portions. In the closed condition the peripheral portion of the lid assembly is urged against the top of the receptacle by forces applied to opposed side edge portions of the lid assembly. Front and rear portions of the contact portion of the receptacle periphery are planar and the peripheral portion of the lid structure is curved across front and rear contact portions, to be closer to the receptacle periphery in central portions of the front and rear contact portions than lateral portions of the front and rear contact portions.

In a variable displacement type hydraulic pump/motor assembly including at least one internally movable component, such as a yoke, a swashplate, and the means for moving the swashplate, the improvement includes imparting on this component absolute location indicia markings and the addition of an optical/electronic sensor unit capable of reading such indicia markings fixedly located on a housing of the pump/motor assembly and including an optical read head extending into the housing interior and located at a spaced distance from the indicia markings for reading same, relative to a reference location, and producing a signal indicative of the absolute position of the movable component. The signal can then, in turn, be used for controlling the displacement of the pump/motor assembly. A method for determining the absolute component position is also set forth.

Improvement, in hydraulic systems, such as for vehicle transmissions and the like, in the form of a hydraulic reservoir with integrated heat exchanger having fluid supply/return and fluid return ports, including a central section, having inner and outer shell portions with a first gap therebetween, the outer shell being provided with a plurality of radially-spaced, external cooling fins, longitudinally-directed for the length of the central section; the ends of the latter being closed off via respective bottom and top cap portions, thereby defining a central fluid cavity, the top cap portion having spaced outer and inner cap portions, with a second gap therebetween, with a fluid inlet port, in the outer cap portion, directing incoming fluid from the second gap into and through the entire length of the first gap before entering the central fluid cavity, thereby maximizing heat transfer from the fluid via the plurality of cooling fins.

Embodiments of the invention relate generally to electrical and electronic hardware, computer software, wired and wireless network communications, and wearable computing devices for facilitating health and wellness-related information. More specifically, disclosed are wearable devices, interfaces, and methods to manage activities, including a sleep activity, responsive to physiological effect of a consumable. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving data representing an indication of consumption, and identifying an amount of a consumable portion. Also, the method includes receiving data representing a time of an event, and aggregating amounts of consumable portions to form an aggregated amount. A modified amount of the aggregated amount of the consumable portions can be determined, for example, as a function of a dissipation rate. The method can include predicting the modified amount at the time of the event, and causing presentation of a time at which a predicted amount conforms to the threshold value.

A hosted system provides any Internet user with the ability to quickly set up and customize a video channel, preferably as a web page or site that can be reached from any Internet-accessible device having a browser. The solution includes tools for use by channel site creators to customize look, feel, and page design. A particular web page or site may be associated with a given subject. A page or site that has such an association is sometimes referred to as “subject-specific.” Once a subject-specific channel is created, a site administrator or individual visitors can search and choose to bring those search results into the channel architecture. The system also enables a multiplatform search, and search results may be automatically populated into the channel content. The system enables the characterization of the material returned, preferably according to a user-generated taxonomy.
