摘要： In an image reading apparatus, it is judged whether an original sheet is either one of a first sheet type, whose sheet length is longer than or equal to a first conveyance distance and shorter than a second conveyance distance, and a second sheet type, whose sheet length is longer than or equal to the second conveyance path, the first conveyance distance being distance between a first conveyance roller and a second conveyance roller, the second conveyance distance being distance between a supply roller and the second conveyance roller. The original sheet is conveyed at a separation timing, when the original sheet separates away from the supply roller, at a speed that is smaller for a case where the original sheet is of the first sheet type than for a case where the original sheet is of the second sheet type. An image is read from the conveyed original sheet.

摘要： An image reading apparatus includes a feeder, a first reading unit, a first memory which stores image data of the surface of the document read by the first reading unit, a second reading unit located at an upstream side of the first reading position, a second memory which stores image data of the document read by the second reading unit and a controller configured to control the feeder, the first reading unit and the second reading unit. The controller controls to execute pre-scanning the document by the second reading unit over a predetermined range shorter than a separation distance between the first reading position and the second reading position in a transporting direction from a leading edge of the document when the document reaches the second reading position. The controller further controls to execute storing obtained pre-scanned image data into the second memory and measuring the size of the document based on the pre-scanned image data stored in the second memory. The controller still further controls to execute reading the surface of the document by the first reading unit when the document reaches the first reading position, and storing obtained first image data into the first memory. The controller controls to execute processing the first image data stored in the first memory based on the size of the document obtained in the measuring.

摘要： The face detection device detects a human face image in an image. The face detection device includes a face determining unit, a control unit, a display unit, and a receiving unit. The face determining unit performs a face determination process in which the face determining unit determines whether the image includes a human face image indicative of at least a part of a human face. The control unit performs a base process by controlling the face determining unit to perform the face determination process at least one time. The display unit displays a result of the base process. When the receiving unit receives an instruction, the control unit performs an additional process by controlling the face determining unit to perform the face determination process at least one time on the same image with a higher accuracy than the face determination process in the base process.
