The present invention provides a novel method for producing hydrogen fluoride, which is capable of using various calcium fluoride sources and preventing a second pasty state from occurring, effectively. In a method for producing hydrogen fluoride by reacting calcium fluoride with sulfuric acid, following steps are conducted: (a) a step for mixing and reacting calcium fluoride particles having an average particle diameter of 1-40 μm with sulfuric acid at a sulfuric acid/calcium fluoride molar ratio of 0.9-1.1 under a temperature of 0-70° C. to obtain a solid-state reaction mixture; and (b) a step for heating the solid-state reaction mixture to a temperature of 100-200° C. to react with itself, and thereby producing hydrogen fluoride in a gas phase.

An ultra wide angle imaging optical system includes, in order from an object side, a first lens group, an aperture stop, and a second lens group. The first lens group includes, in order from the position closest to the object side, a negative meniscus lens element convex to the object side, a negative lens element, and a negative lens element. The second lens group includes a plurality of positive lens elements. The first lens group and the second lens group each includes at least one anamorphic surface having different optical powers with respect to a first section extending in a first direction on a flat plane substantially orthogonal to an optical axis, and with respect to a second section extending in a second direction substantially orthogonal to the first direction. The first lens group includes the lens element satisfying the following conditional formula (1): −0.6

A waterproof case for an in-vehicle camera includes a front case part and a rear case part, and houses imaging means such as the imaging device therein. A packing member is set between the front case part and the rear case part, and waterproofs and seals the space therebetween. A water-stop wall part is protrudingly formed on a flange part which is an attaching portion of the rear case part at a peripheral of the packing member. A concave part, into which the water-stop wall part can be fitted, is formed on an opening peripheral part which is an attaching portion of the front case part.

In a camera unit, a lens system may be configured by a first lens group (wide-angle lens system) whose a field angle in a horizontal direction is 120 degrees or more, a second lens group (anamorphic lens system) whose anamorphic ratio is 1.5 or more, and a third lens group (image-forming lens system). A lens system may be configured so that the amount of change in image height with respect to a change of an image angle is made larger at the peripheral parts than at the center portion of a formed image.

In a vehicle periphery visual confirming apparatus 1A, the vertical angle portion 5 of a prism 4 is chamfered by cutting away the vertical angle adjacent areas 5L, 5R, and light rays 18R (18L) entering the portion of the prism 4, where the vertical angle adjacent areas 5R (5L) was once present, are allowed to pass in front of the chamfered surface 5a and go to the outside through the penetration window portion 2L (2R) of a case, or, are allowed to enter the chamfered surface 5a and are scattered by the rough surface of the chamfered surface 5a, so that the light rays are prevented from advancing into the prism 4.

In a vehicle-mounted image pickup device, when an image pickup device main body requiring waterproof is housed in a case member, the case member includes a translucent housing having window sections which serve as incident window regions; flaw-prevention translucent plates which are laminated on the window sections of the translucent housing so as to be located on the exterior surface side of the translucent housing; and an opaque layer formed in an area other than an area where there are disposed the flaw-prevention translucent plates.

The last-in terminals of temporary binding circuits are located with relation to their corresponding joint connectors. The last-in terminals are removably held in a temporary holding jig which is inserted into the joint connectors and remain therein when the holding jig is withdrawn. Branch circuits may also be established by means of conductive clips having suitably located contacts. By this Invention, the last-in terminals of the temporary binding circuits can be practically and efficiently processed. Moreover, the use of a female housing to be connected to the joint connector can be eliminated.

A camera unit and an apparatus for monitoring a vehicle periphery, which are capable of picking up a wide range of a visual field while adequately adjusting the visual fields in the horizontal and vertical directions, and at the same time, improving visual confirmation of images displayed. The camera unit may include a pickup element, a lens system in which light rays incoming from a prescribed range of a visual field onto the pickup element are imaged, the lens system including a wide-angle lens system whose visual field angle in the horizontal direction is 120 degrees or more, and an anamorphic lens system whose anamorphic ratio is 1.5 or more.

In a camera unit, with respect to a relationship between an image height of respective image portion on an image formed on the pickup element and an image angle of the light lays made incident into the respective image portions, the lens system is configured so that an amount of change in the image height with respect to a change in the image angle is greater at a peripheral portion of the image than at a center part of the image.
