摘要： With respect to each head mounted on a hard disk, an area accessed by the head is obtained in advance and managed as disk information. Then, if a read error or a write error has occurred during operation, the corresponding head is identified on the basis of a logical block address at which the error has occurred. If a read error or a write error caused by the identified head has occurred multiple times, only data stored in an area accessed by the head is transferred to another hard disk. After the completion of the data transfer, the hard disk with the failed head and the other hard disk serving as the destination of the data transfer are used as hard disks constituting the same RAID array.

摘要： A storage system in which a storage control apparatus writes data in each of divided areas defined by division of one or more storage areas in one or more storage devices, after encryption of the data with an encryption key unique to each divided area. When the storage control apparatus receives, from a management apparatus, designation of one or more of the divided areas allocated as one or more physical storage areas for a virtual storage area to be invalidated and an instruction to invalidate data stored in the one or more of the divided areas, the storage control apparatus invalidates one or more encryption keys associated with the designated one or more of the divided areas. In addition, the storage control apparatus may further overwrite at least part of the designated one or more of the divided areas with initialization data for data erasion.

摘要： In a storage system, a disk device performs recovery and transfers read data to a control device, and the control device judges the validity of the recovery to prevent a transfer of erroneous data. A control device read-accesses a disk device, and the disk device returns read data and a recovered read error response. A control device, at the time of an initial recovered read error, performs a retry of a similar command, and if an error does not occur for read commands including the retry read command, judges the data to be valid. Uncertain data (suspect data) upon occurrence of a recovered read error is restored through disk retry, and accurate read data can be transferred to the host.
