Abstract:
A pant-type absorbent article including a chassis structure including a front panel having a front end edge and first and second side edges, a back panel having a back end edge and first and second side edges and a crotch panel arranged between the front and back panels at least one of said front and back panels including an elastic nonwoven/film laminate, and a core being integrated with the chassis structure, the first and second side edges of the front panel being joined by side seams to the corresponding first and second side edges of the back panel. Each side seam is formed at least in part in a weldable connecting member, the connecting member including a first part being secured to a side edge on the front panel and a second part being secured to a corresponding side edge on the back panel, said first and second parts of said connecting member being joined by thermowelding to form said side seam.
Abstract:
Disposable hygiene pants with a front portion (2), a rear portion (3) and a crotch portion (4) provided with two leg openings (5, 6), the longitudinal edge portions (21, 22) of the front portion being connected by longitudinal weld seams (7, 8) to the longitudinal edge portions (31, 32) of the rear portion (3) in order to form a waist opening (9) and two leg openings (5, 6) in the crotch portion, which leg openings are outwardly delimited in the transverse direction by the inner end portions of the weld seams as seen in the longitudinal direction of the hygiene pants. The hygiene pants have an outer cover (10) and comprise an absorption unit (11). The cover is preferably made of an elastic laminate. The weld seams (7, 8) are each reinforced by at least one reinforcing strip (15, 16) containing thermoplastic fibers and have a tensile strength, in a direction transverse to the weld seam, in excess of 5 N/25.4 mm at least in the portions reinforced with said nonwoven strip (15, 16).
Abstract:
A thermal actuator (1) having a plurality of passive stable states (21, 22) is provided. The thermal actuator (1) comprises an actuator body (3), an actuating arrangement (10)and a thermal control arrangement (15). The actuating arrangement further comprises a phase change material, yielding a volume change upon a change in phase of the phase change material. The actuating arrangement(10) change state due to the volume change. The thermal control arrangement (15) has at least a first and a second thermal controlling means (16, 17), wherein at lest one of themes individually controllable in order to have a localized control of the change in phase and thus the state of the actuating arrangement(10). A method for switching a thermal actuator (1) according to the invention is also presented.
Abstract:
A method for producing diaper component parts (3) from strip material (5, 8), wherein the strip material (5, 8) is fed continuously, by means of conveying means (6), along a straight path (P) extending through a number of work stations (9, 16, 21) synchronized with one another; and wherein, along the path (P), the strip material (5, 8) is secured to the conveying means (6) so that all points of the strip material (5, 8) travel at the same speed.
Abstract:
An absorbent article such as a diaper, an incontinence pad, a sanitary towel or the like includes at least one elasticated area. The elasticated area includes a patterned area having a visible pattern.

Abstract:
A method for creating apertures with melted edges in a web shaped material including feeding a web-shaped material through a nip between a rotational ultrasonic horn and a rotational anvil roller, so as to create melted regions in the web-shaped material, while the web is residing on the anvil roller having a rotational speed. The method further includes controlling the rotational speed of the ultrasonic horn to a speed other than that of the anvil roller, such that a speed difference is created between the horn and the anvil roller. The speed difference is selected such that a stress created in the web acts to rupture the centers of the melted regions in the web-shaped material, whereby the apertures with melted edges are created.
