摘要： A transferring device which operates on an apparatus for producing optical discs comprising several different work stations, each arranged to perform a predetermined operation on the discs being processed. The transferring device performs a sequential transfer of each disc between the different work stations following a path comprising two parallel advance lines, one forward line and one return line, respectively, which are disposed laterally on opposite sides relative to the longitudinal extension axis of a support arm. The support arm supports a first and a second series of pick-up heads arranged to execute the optical disc transfer on the forward and return lines during the forward and return strokes of the support arm, respectively.

摘要： A tape loading apparatus and method wherein a cassette previously loaded with waste tape is engaged in a work station. A trailing section of the waste tape is extracted from a front opening of the cassette together with a second portion of a leader spliced thereto. The second portion of the leader is separated from the waste tape which is then connected to a previously discarded tape length which is susceptible of engagement with a winding for upon the action of which all waste tape is extracted from the cassette. When extraction is over, a first portion of the leader is separated from the extracted waste tape and then spliced to a new use tape to be loaded into the cassette.

摘要： In a cassette loading machine, several loading modules carry out the loading of a predetermined amount of use tape into the individual cassettes [, said]tape . The use tape [being]is continuously supplied from a pancake mounted on a support hub. When one of the pancakes mounted on one of the hubs is out of tape, [the intervention of]a manipulating unit [occurs and said unit]picks up, [by means of]with a grasping and release member carried by a supply module, a new pancake filled with use tape from a storage unit [located sideways]. The manipulating unit moves close to the out of tape pancake and removes it from the respective support hub with the aid of a grasping member carried by a discharge module. Then the new pancake filled with use tape is mounted onto the support hub in place of the out of tape pancake.

摘要： In an automatic cassette loading machine a pancake is mounted on a rotatable support hub. A reading member comprising a photoelectric cell and carried by a main carriage movable at right angles to the axis of the pancake is disposed at a position spaced apart from the pancake itself and is then moved close to the latter. When the peripheral edge of the pancake is intercepted by the light beam emitted by the photoelectric cell the reading member is moved away from the pancake and disposed so that it can intercept the passage of a closure tab fastening the end of the tape on the pancake. The pancake rotation is then stopped when the location of the closure tab enables it to be picked up by a grasping member associated with the cassette loading machine.

摘要： A cassette winding machine includes a tape winding unit for winding a predetermined length of tape from either a first supply reel or a second supply reel into a cassette. The first and second supply reels are rotatably mounted on hubs on the machine. A tape support holds the tape from the first supply reel as well as the tape from the second supply reel. The tape support is located on the supply reel side of the cassette winding machine between the supply reels and the tape winding unit. The cassette winding machine also includes a tape threading assembly that has a gripper device. The gripper device selectively grips and releases tape from either the first supply reel or the second supply reel. The tape gripper device grasps a selected one of the first and second tapes at a point near the tape support. Subsequently, the tape threading assembly moves the gripper device, which is holding the free end of the selected tape, from the supply reel side of the cassette winding machine to the opposite side of the cassette winding machine beyond the tape winding unit. Hence, the tape threading assembly moves the selected tape from one side of the cassette winding machine to the other side and places the selected tape across the tape winding unit. The tape winding unit may then utilize the selected tape for tape winding operations. Preferably, the tape threading assembly moves the gripper device ina substantially straight line between its initial threading position and its final threading position without encountering any guide rollers or other components.

A second disc half, optionally resiliently deformed to a conical configuration, is arranged under an auxiliary support axially opposed to the main support. An adhesive dispenser delivers an adhesive along the outer circumferential edge of the first disc half, following a rotation imparted to the dispenser about the respective axis. The dispensed adhesive spreads by gravity along the glued surface of the first disc half and is thereby evenly spread thereon. The second disc half is then lowered onto the first disc half to achieve mutual pairing of the first and second disc halves.
